Bummer, your messages have been temporarily disabled

I have been receiving this message for five days and I have consulted the technical team 4 times in a row. my problem still persists. i have carefully examined the etsy rule violations that may cause this problem and I have not done anything that may cause rule violations. i have specifically avoided this. what could be the source of this problem. i cannot reach my buyers in my message box. i cannot answer their questions. how can I be a star seller or how can I sell when I cannot answer my buyers?

You don't have any buyers,

If you have been sending the same things to different people, hoping to get them to buy, it is spam, and etsy disables your messages, normally 2-4 weeks the first time.

second timers don't seem to exist.

You don't have any sales so you don't have any 'buyers'. If you have been sending messages to people who favourite your items, that is considered spam and is illegal in many countries. You will most likely have to just wait until Etsy decides to reinstate your messaging privileges. The only contact you can have with people who favourite items is to set up a coupon code that Etsy will send on your behalf.

Maybe you should read the post where a seller continued spamming customers and Etsy closed their shop down. Learn from this, do not contact anyone who has not purchased from you or has initiated contact about a product.

When you send an email to Etsy about an issue, don't open new emails but continue to reply to the original one that you still need help.  If you don't have any buyers or messages in your in box, there is no need for you to send messages.  

Beware of scammers.  They may try to contact you through your inbox requesting your email address, etc., to complete the sale.  Do not answer these but send them to spam.  A true sale will be reflected in your payment account and you should also receive an email from Etsy about the item that has sold, etc.

thanks i m very careful about that. I have encountered this many times before and I have blocked many scammers. I think they follow new shops and try to scam them. they tried it on me too.

Are you trying to respond to messages sent to you? Do the messages ask for your email so they can make a purchase? If this is the case, the "buyer" is actually a scammer and Etsy most likely suspended the account before you tried to respond. This is just a guess based on the multiple threads about message scams lately.

@uniqueinnova: If you are getting the "Bummer, your messages have been temporarily disabled" advisory' and not to discount the fact that your messaging may have been disabled in error, generally it is because the system has detected that your account has been sending unsolicited non-transactional messages.

 

There does not appear to be a published time for how long messaging is muted and based on posts in this forum it can vary.

 

Again based on other posts, Etsy does not seem to view support requests based on user violations as a priority.

 

If the Message muting is in error, one of the Etsy Admins has been able, in several cases, to restore messaging. Hopefully they will see your thread and will check into it for you.

Thank you for your kind reply. but I have not done anything that could mean a violation of the rules. even my number of messages is 4 or five or even less, although my shop is new, my buyers are writing and asking questions. etsy can not be so much if it does it specifically to not sell, it is unbelievable to wait so long for the solution. it is unacceptable that the technical team does not see it.

@uniqueinnovaSince you do not have any sales you do not have any buyers--so who are these people you are trying to message?

 

If they are asking for your email they are NOT buyers OR Etsy--they are scammers trying to get your banking information so they can withdraw all your funds

thanks bu no. no, I have tried from my own different etsy account and from the accounts of my friends who I am sure are not scammers, all my messages are rejected.

 I have 2 accounts on Etsy where I buy and sell.
My purchasing account is almost 5 years old.
I just opened my seller account, the two have nothing to do with each other.
I used it to send messages from my recipient account just to check my messages.
My other friends' accounts are in different countries and they make purchases from time to time.
These are not scammers, they are old accounts that have shopped on Etsy's site before.
It has nothing to do with the topic. I cannot send any message to anyone

Etsy rules are that ALL accounts you own must be declared.

I would like to thank each and every one of you. I am very sad that it took so long to solve this problem. I decided to close my store. I will wait a few more days. Solving even such a simple problem scares me so much about the problems that may arise when I make sales in the future. I no longer have good thoughts about Etsy.
