I see that the quantity drop-down window is gone on some of my listings. I read in the forums that this was an issue in 2020 but I see nothing recently. I had an item listed with 10 and a customer bought all so I relisted, he then bought all 10 again and now I notice after relisting the quantity can only be increased at checkout. Other items I have listed with multiples have the drop-down window on the listing page other items that I have multiple od do not. This could be very confusing for the customer, anyone else experiencing this? I've tried changing the quantity on these listing to see if there is a trigger point to no avail . . .
The trigger point is $20. It's not a bug or a glitch. Items $20 or over need to be added to cart, before quantity can be selected. I have yet to see any explanation for why Etsy thinks this is a good idea.
That's it, I checked all my items over $20 and no drop-down window till you get to check out. Well, that is the stupidest thing I ever heard of. Had my customer not realized this I would have lost out on two $450 orders. If I had been the customer I most likely would have moved on as the quantity I needed was not available. . .
I'm constantly needing to tell customers that yes, I have more than one ... I feel like such a dope having to do this.
Yeah, that been a problem for a long time. It appears to be different on different devices. I would contact Etsy support with screenshots and point out that this issue is confusing for buyers and therefore not helping sales. I would imagine that this is more of an issue for supply sellers.
I have absolutely lost sales because of this. 2 contacted me, but had moved on to another already by the time I responded. (and I respond pretty rapidly) So if 2 actually contacted me to ask, I have to wonder how many have just moved on without contacting.
I've since [reluctantly] added another smaller size option in those listings, so that it shows that I have more available.
Why they think this is a good idea is beyond me.
It has been a real pain for me because I'm constantly having to explain to customers that they have to go to their cart in order to change the quantity. I can't for the life of me understand why they made the change.
