Product dimensions entered in dimensions fields of listing do not appear in Etsy buyer app

It *is* frustrating that the Etsy (orange) buyer app does not display the dimensions that the shop owner enters into the dimensions fields when preparing the listing. Dimension is a vital attribute for buyers to see. And how would they know of the app’s deficiency? It’s troubling that the “solution” is to write the dimensions into the listing’s title or description. Have you experienced this?

I always put dimensions in the listing description. It's not onerous to me.

@EricaHoytWatercolors: Sorry but a little confused why the dimensions of the shipping package would be important to the buyer. As a buyer I would only be interested in the actual dimensions of the item (not the size of the box you are shipping it in) and those do not have a place to enter on the listing so they need to be included in the description (and possibly title).

@BagmakerSupply   She's referring to the item details known as highlights.  Dimensions can be listed on PC browser but on an android device the highlights are limited to two or three which does not add the rest so in her case the dimensions are missing.

Thank you, but I stated “product dimensions” not shipping package. I sell watercolor prints, so I list the width and height of each image when creating the listing. There are fields in the listing template for “width” and “height.” But those do not appear in the buyer app. Hence, the solution mentioned by others: to type the dimensions into the title and/or description. In that case, what good are the width and height fields that are provided when creating a listing? Buyers don’t know that they have to go to the web version of the site rather than the app to see the dimensions listed.

@EricaHoytWatercolors: Etsy must be doing something different, because we have never seen any of the dimensions displayed to a buyer on the listing unless they are in the title or description; nor does our listing form have these fields (except for the packed size dimensions under shipping).

Just to be clear, are you referring to the fields other than those under 'Item size (when packed)' ? If so, then you have fields that we do not see.

If you are referring to those under Shipping, they are intended primarily for use by calculated shipping to decide which box the item(s) will fit into- for example your item might be 12 inches x 6 inches x 1 inch, but after being bubble-wrapped is 14 inches x 8 inches x 3 inches.

As I replied on your other thread.  I think that is an android issue and not necessarily only an app issue.  I compared the web version (PC) to the android version browser and found the item details were limited even there and not just on the app.  Android does do things differently than PC or MAC.
