Processing my Order

Hey, I’m a new seller and I got my first order but when I clicked on the email and clicked the Take next Action button to verify my bank the bank never responded and after a couple attempts I changed my bank and went to try it again and it said the link was deleted so now I don’t know what happened and if I still even had a buyer can any of relate?

Re: Processing my Order

This sounds like a scam. Never click links or verify anything unless it came from Etsy, in which case it would be in the Etsy message folder. I don't see an order in your shop, so I'm thinking it was someone trying to get your bank/email info. Sorry this happened to you!

Re: Processing my Order

I would definitely call the bank asap and tell them someone possibly has your banking info.

Re: Processing my Order

@SwiftKreationsLLC: Sounds like another variation of the SCAM aimed at Etsy sellers - you might want to read the excellent post by @bradgoodell  in https://community.etsy.com/t5/Managing-Your-Shop/How-to-Spot-a-Scam-No-a-Buyer-Doesn-t-Need-Your-Ema... and https://community.etsy.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Why-do-they-ask-me-for-my-e-mail-in-order-to-make-a-p...

There is also official information from Etsy at https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000343128-How-to-Handle-Spam-and-Suspicious-Messages?segm...

Real messages from Etsy are now going into their own section on your messages page https://community.etsy.com/t5/Announcements/New-From-Etsy-section-in-Messages/m-p/143722497#M1899

If you have not already done so, you may want to read https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/115015710308-What-to-Do-After-You-Sell-an-Item?segment=selli... for an overview how orders work for sellers.

Was it an Etsy message or an eMail? If an eMail was it just the eMail copy of the Etsy message or a free standing eMail?

If it was an Etsy message, be sure to try and mark the message as SPAM so that it does not affect your stats.

Re: Processing my Order

SCAM. When you get a REAL order, it will show up on your dashboard under "orders & shipping". The processing happens automatically behind the scenes, and you don't need to verify anything.

Mark the message as spam. Call your bank about fraud in case you've been compromised.
