I received a message stating that I had my first sale. I had to restart my phone and then the message disappeared when I returned to my email. What needs to be done to retrieve the message?
Your shop shows no sales. Someone was probably about to try to scam you and Etsy deleted their account and hence the message.
Your storefront does not show that you have made any sales.
The reason the message probably disappeared is this was probably a scam to get your financial information (They are wild on Etsy right now--everywhere!) and Etsy caught it and deleted it.
When you get a legit sale it will show on your "orders & shipping" on your dashboard. You will also get an email from Etsy . You won;t receive a MESSAGE saying you have a sale. Please be very very careful, especially if they try to take you off Etsy and try to get you to give them your email (Etsy will NOT ask for it--they already have it). The scammers try to get you to divulge your financials by telling you they "need it" to confirm the sale--no--they don't! Send any message like that to spam--or come here to the forum if in doubt and ask.

@WeldWeaverStudios A sale will show you were paid in your shop dashboard under "Finances" > "Payment Account" under Recent Activity. If you received a "message" from Etsy it will only show up under your Profile (upper right side) under Messages > Inbox > "From Etsy". Hope this helps.
