So I know that the custom listing option has been far from perfect since it was changed a while ago, but I had found a workround:
Create the listing
Deactivate the listing
Open and edit the listing with whatever the very restricted form didn't offer me - photos, shipping options etc., fix whatever Etsy wants me to fix (I always have to add the origin postcode, despite having that in my settings already)
Reactivate the listing
Today, I created the listing, was able to deactivate it and open and edit it, but it wouldn't save my changes.
I'm wondering If there's some other area in the background of the listing that also needs changing (like the origin postcode) that I can't see / isn't being highlighted? I'm pretty sure this must be to do with the old listing format diappearing now and I have no issue with that (been using it for ages), but I do need it to work...
Is anyone else having these issues?
p.s. using desktop Etsy
sorry, no help here, I hate the custom listing process.
Everytime you publish that listing the buyer gets a message with a link to the custom listing. And now while it's deactivated, the customer clicks on that link they received and will see the OOPS page.
You spend the 20c either way. Publish a regular listing AND someone else might see that same listing and want the same thing or something similar.
I never use a private custom listing - too many problems. I make a reserved regular listing instead and send the buyer the link.
