Hello Guys,
Today I found another glitch in my shop which I would seek your help to figure.
So my product prices are inflated for some reason when I change my location setting to the UK.
Please find some listings below which have different pricing in the UK.
The actual price of the above product is $75 but in the UK it shows as $90
2. https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1238437754/reversible-kimono-jacket-geometric?click_key=155a0a3483e8...
The actual price is $130 but shows up in the UK as $156.
Also strangely my highest priced item which is $160 shows up at the same price across.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Good Day
EU countries have different rates of VAT, but it is applied to any order under 150 euros, orders over that are charged on import, as customs fees will be due too.
For Australia and New Zealand, the GST rate is 10%, and their threshold is Aus$1000
Items from outside the UK will have 20% VAT automatically added by Etsy.
The same will apply to EU countries (tho VAT rate will vary by country), USA (tax rate will vary by state), Australia, New Zealand, Norway
Etsy adds the required tax to your price, then deducts the money from what the customer pays and remits it to the relevant authorities
Thank you for that information.
All though it doesn't add up the tax for Australia, NewZealand, it does add up Tax for some EU nations, so this should be it.
I guess there will be a tax Slab too because one of my product which is $142 after tax shows up as $173 and one of my product which is priced at $160 shows up the same as $160, so no tax on that.
The UK government charges import VAT (@ 20%) on all purchases from other countries. If the total amount is under £135 then Etsy adds this VAT automatically.
Yes makes sense, it does show up like this for some EU nations too.
So one of my product which is $142 with tax becomes $173 and another product which is at $160 there is no tax charged.

Thank you all for shedding light on this.
Have a great day/evening.
