Hi everyone!
I'm feeling awesome because I've had 11 items favorited! I'm a new shop that hasn't had sales yet but have had great people favorite some of my glass necklaces. Well my code for %15 off of the favorited item is not going out! What can I do?
Etsy only sends them to people who have opted in to receive promotional emails from Etsy. So a lot of people who favourite items won’t receive them.
There is nothing you can do. Those that fave your items have to be opted in to receiving promotional emails from Etsy to get the coupons. Lots of people opt out so they won't get the coupons. I know the first thing I do on a new site is opt out of promotional emails. Also, Etsy only sends a limited number of coupons in each email so if someone has favorited a lot of items chances of getting your coupon are greatly reduced.
Since not everyone is signed up to get coupons you can see how many were sent on your marketing page. And not everyone who favourites an item wants to necessarily purchase.
No you can’t - it’s considered spam and is illegal in many countries. It’s a sure fire way to get your messaging ability removed by Etsy.

That makes sense! Thanks, for your help! Can I send the likers a message with a discount code or would that be considered bad form?

Good point! Thanks! I'm newer so just trying to figure it all out.
Always good to ask!
Thanks for answering, I had the same question about sending direct message to a favoriter (I'm new too). I will avoid doing, but I did set up the Favorite promo code in Marketing...do you know if it will send to the person retroactively (if opted in) or just to people going forward from when I set up? I can't find in the handbook.
@ArtfullyLN Probably just going forward, but Etsy has been known to do unusual things from time to time.

Thank you for your input! So probably not a good idea to message the likers.
@TCCreatesNow It's definitely not a good idea to message likers with any sort of promotional offer. Totally against Etsy policy. And spam laws.

Nice work! I know that you didn't ask for a critique, but your photos are rather busy. You might try cropping some of your photos with the etsy tool to just show the pendant and not all the extra decor. Then monitor your stats and see which ones are getting the most notice. You could photograph the back as well. It takes a while!
@ArtfullyLN No, they don't go out retroactively. In addition to the fact that people have to opt in to receive them, etsy will only send a certain amount per week to those who do so they aren't bombarded.
Remember: a favorite/like is the only way to bookmark anything on etsy. Don't take it as an intention to purchase. They could be intending to copy you, or report you, or just like your photo staging.
