Hi! I had an order for a physical product, and a made to order digital download. I just completed the order and bought the shipping label for the physical product, expecting it to prompt me to upload the digital file and it never did. So the order is marked complete, but I can't see how to upload the digital file. I can always email it, but I'm hoping someone can help explain how I would need to do this process correctly in the future. or a way to correct it now? Thank you!
You mark the physical complete when you post, or if you're using Etsy labels I think it does it for you. You then need to email the digital to the buyer or send them the link if you're hosting offsite. You then have to mark that one completed.
My understanding is you only upload instant downloads to Etsy - and those get completed when the buyer's payment goes through (not when they finally download it).
@AnniebelloPaper made to order digital listings - it's listed as digital so it doesn't require tracking for SS, but you upload the custom files to the order to complete it.
@CappuccinoLace thanks for the correction. I don't do these so was only going on what I read on the forums. Obviously need to reread some things : )
^^^ That is correct you will have to email a custom digital to the customer. Then mark the order "Digital"
Etsy assumes you do one or the other. You either sell digital or physical, and it can't actually handle an order of both types.
Every time you get an order of both types, you'll have to email the files.
