I have been using the same iPhone for a couple of years now, but suddenly my photos are not being uploaded in high enough resolution? I have never had this issue before and am wondering if it’s a problem with the Etsy phone app, or with my iPhone. I have an iPhone 11 Pro
It's not always just the image size. AI image bot is trying to determine if our main image is clear enough product representation wise too, for byer search results.
Try zooming your image thumbnail up or swap images for the main image.
@thisgirlsjunk: There have been reports of false positives for not having high enough resolution images, but what image size (in pixels) and dots per inch are you uploading the images as?
I am not sure? How can I tell? I haven’t changed anything on my phone other than doing an update last night.

Images have become increasingly important on Etsy. Etsy's bot needs to be able to tell exactly what is listed gor sale.
I will try that. It could be the AI thing. My phone has two settings for image capture, “high efficiency” and “most compatible”. Right now it’s set at “high efficiency”. I didn’t change it, that’s what it’s always been on. But if switching the main image out doesn’t work, I will try taking photos using the “most compatible” setting. Thank you for responding.
I am getting this error message today for the first time. In both instances I uploaded the same exact photo again, no changes, and the message went away and says great job! lol
Not long ago I got the error after uploading an image that was high res enough. I deleted it & uploaded again & the error went away. Go figure.
I am starting to get the same error with my iphone. I have watched views on how to get higher resolution with my iphone but nothing is working. It is driving me crazy because I have always used my Iphone to take my pictures for my items. Let me know if you get any solutions. I think this is an etsy issue and not our phones.
I think it is an Etsy issue as well, having to do with AI. I was able to get mine to work by zooming in slightly on the thumbnails. If you’ve tried the above solutions, maybe it’s time to reach out to Etsy.
Same problem here - I use iphone, but I also use fotofuze for some photos and it seems to be the ones that are being fotofuzed. Been doing the same thing for years and never had an issue until about 2 weeks ago. Now every image that I fotofuze is getting tagged.
I got a photo tagged for some error thing that said it would affect it in search, and I just pulled it, lightened it a little, put it back in, and the error went away. This happened once before, on a different photo, and I did the same thing with that one.
It has to be an Etsy glitch as iPhones since first generation take photos large enough. Ive had an iPhone since they first came out.
Old arse 2mp cameras took photos large enough...
