Unable to edit photos in Shop Manager

I often have this problem, but today it's especially bad. Is anyone else not able to edit photos in shop manager? I've tried again and again and it's just not working.

I seldom edit in listings other than the thumbnail photo.  I use Microsofts editor for my photos if anything needs editing.  I've just never liked Etsy's tools for editing photos.

I just tried to edit a photo and it let me. Can you just edit the photo outside of Etsy and then post it? Etsy editing doesn't do that much.
