Phantom messages?

I keep getting message threads bumped to the top of my inbox, with a 1h as though there has been a recent message, but there's nothing new there, sometimes the last message on it was from me weeks before. If it's just a glitch, that's fine, but my concern is that customers are sending messages that for some reason aren't appearing. Anyone else had this issue?

I don't understand the "1h". But it may very well be scammers Messages that Etsy is catching.

It's on message thread from previous or current customers, so not a scam thankfully. The 1h is the time frame (so like 1 hour ago).

Yes, this was happening to me and others a few weeks ago. I thought it had resolved. You don't have to do anything. Customers are not sending messages. It's a weird glitch. I had ones popping up from customers whose orders were completed weeks ago. It would pop up like there was a new message from them, but when I looked, the last message was one I had sent them previously about their order. Very weird.

Ah thank you, that's a relief, as didn't want people thinking I was ignoring them! I hadn't had it happen for a few weeks and it's just started up again.

Etsy is sending them surveys about your customer service, its causing those messages to pop up at the top.

How do you know? So when the customer gets the survey it looks as if it is from us? That would be maddening.

I've had that too - hopefully it won't cause me to miss an actual new message.

@TickleYourWitch  I got that survey question a few weeks ago and it was obvious it was from Etsy.

@TickleYourWitch There was another glitch that showed me a notification at the bottom of my screen and it showed me part of the message asking about how my customer service was and it also showed who they sent it to, and her message was bumped the top of my inbox, but I had spoke with her a several days prior. Now I keep seeing them and its usually a week or so after a customer messages me about something about their order. I don't think it looks like its from us though, just another thing from Etsy.
