Personal Purchases messages are linked to shop - affects Star Seller results

I received a message about one of my personal orders and (due to the app) could not reply within 24 hours.
I now have a missed message against my star seller score.
Support said they would look into it for future updates, but claims that the other seller is also a "potential customer" so it does count. They also agreed that making a separate account is a good idea.
Sucks as a user, but I guess that's what I'll do.

edited: were you not able to answer because of a glitch?  If so you can probably still go back and mark it as spam and it will update your score.

@itaintmuchcandles: At least for the time being, it appears that marking an unanswered message as SPAM (even after the 24 hour deadline has passed) will cause your reply percentage to change in a day or two if the original message was within the current star seller period. Note that subsequent messages from that account may go directly to the SPAM folder.

Many sellers have separate buying accounts.  That's always an option if you want to keep your buying and selling activity apart.

We have known this for months and months. You have to answer EVERYTHING at least once, or else mark it as spam. This is very old news. Search the forum to see if your question has already been asked before asking again. There are hundreds of posts about this already.

I might be in the minority but I find having a separate buying account handy actually.   

It keeps everything sorted out neatly - the only thing on my shop account is what gets reported to the accountant.     I don't care about any message rating over there and I keep them open in two different browsers so I don't get confused.   You do need to disclose all accounts per Etsy's terms but that's occasionally helpful too as I purchase under the buying account but if I use the product on my selling side, the sellers can follow to know I'm not stealing their product from somewhere - I actually did buy the rights to it.   :   )
