I had an email from Etsy staff advising my shop was temporarily unable to accept new orders and could I confirm my email address. I checked my shop by trying to add 1 of my items to my basket and it’s seems you are unable to order from my shop so I replied to the message with my email address. I received a response with a link which I’m unable to use due to it being an unsecure site. Can someone tell me is the email was a scam and what has happened to my shop?
thanks, Pam
And I just was able to add an item to cart - so rest assured, everything is working fine for you!
There is a section in your Etsy messages "from etsy" - if any future message come thru from "Etsy" that is not in that section, mark as spam and do not engage.
*the newer "from Etsy" section in our messages was added in response to these recent scams - but unfortunately does not show on the mobile apps - only desktop.

No, that's a SCAM!
You can't buy from your own shop, that's why you had problems. Etsy already has your email. Glad you were unable to go any further, because Sellers have lost thousands from variations of this scam.

@AShakyRightHook: Two separate and unconnected issues. "trying to add 1 of my items to my basket" will not work because you cannot but from yourself.
As to the request for your eMail it is a SCAM - you might want to read the excellent post by @bradgoodell https://community.etsy.com/t5/Managing-Your-Shop/How-to-Spot-a-Scam-No-a-Buyer-Doesn-t-Need-Your-Ema... and https://community.etsy.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Why-do-they-ask-me-for-my-e-mail-in-order-to-make-a-p...

@AShakyRightHook Hi Pam, Just in case you aren't aware, the "From Etsy" Folder does not appear on the Seller App (in case you are using it). In the event that you are, you must use a browser instead.
This is currently happening to me but I have not responded to any of the emails as they do not seem legitimate
Mark them as spam.
Yes, I'm aware. But the seller I nested under just posted 10 minutes ago. So before a mod comes by and closes this old OP, I just wanted to let her know she should spam those messages.
