new sellers from most EU countries, including Germany, don't have the paypal option, for buyers
It's been like it for well over a year
My guess is that Etsy and Paypal can't come to a commercial agreement for those countries, so it is not an option for new shops there.
There is no way etsy would tell us this, it is commercially sensitive information
Etsy has also started to close paypal only shops - which makes me think it will go for all of us at some point
I was offered to use other payment methods, but this option is not suitable for me.
..... the payment methods are for customers to pay etsy, they are not paying you directly. your shop has a lot of other payment methods for customers
whatever way the customer pays, the money goes to etsy, then to your etsy payment account, and then to your bank
even if you had paypal as an option for your buyers, it would work that way, it wouldn't go to your paypal account
