Payment processing and Order Cancelling

Hey everyone,

I have received 3 orders from family friends that have all came up with 'payment processing' and then 1 day later came up with 'cancelled' as the order wasn't accepted. So I opened an Etsy account and ordered an item to check if it worked and the order went straight through. Why does my shop keep procession payments and then cancelling them? and how can I stop this?

Your shop is not processing the payments. Etsy has contracted payment processing companies who do that. There must be a problem with credit cards - expiration dates, etc.

Be careful with ordering from your own shop. Etsy could easily see this as shilling, even if you're buying through a second account. Are the family friends ordering through their own computers/phones? If they're ordering through yours, or from the same IP address as yours, that could be a problem.

Do you mean that you ordered from yourself?  Did you cancel the order?

It's strange that 3 friends & family all had credit card issues.  It has to be something in the way they are ordering.  Same IP or something is wrong.

How did the 3 order?  Same computer?  Your computer?

You should read the shilling policy:

https://www.etsy.com/legal/policy/shilling/243317364583

There is also a new policy somewhere about manipulating shop data that you may have violated by purchasing from your own shop.
