Pattern website appears differently than in the editor

I am trying out the Pattern site for the first time, but when I try to publish my site, it looks nothing like the page I just built and the theme goes away. It ends up looking more plain and like a list than the home page that I selected in the suggested themes. Any suggestions?

What theme are you using?  I agree it looks odd, but I can't figure out what it is doing.  Can you try a different theme and see what happens?

Not sure if you ever got an answer, but figured I would reply to anyone else still having this issue.  It seems that the issue is with the Zephyr theme, which is the one Pattern selects by default.  Changing the theme worked for me, but any time I tried to use Zephyr it reverted back to the ugly version.
