I'm posting again as I'm totally desperate for some help. Three days ago I was logging into my shop Simply Pretty Pieces and a notification popped up on my screen saying I needed to reset my password and an email would be sent. My password was old, so it wasn't a surprise, but I didn't receive the email with the link to reset it and therefore I can't log into my shop (i'm posting this from my other shop account). My shop is still active but I don't think I'm making any sales and I can't respond to any messages.
I contacted Etsy, opened a ticket, and received an email with security questions, which I answered. I then received another email with more security questions, again I responded. Since then I have received NO communication from Etsy. I have been an Etsy seller since 2011, I am a star seller and I am the main breadwinner in my family.....and frankly I can't believe this is happening.
Over the last three days I have tried everything I can think of. My email is a yahoo one and I have added all of etsy's email addresses to my contacts. I have followed all the advice in Etsy's help and I have followed the advice in Yahoo about receiving emails....but I still can't receive the emails with the password reset link. I haven't received any of the automatic emails from Etsy for several months, I mean the ones when you make a sale or when they send funds to your bank and obviously the password reset email! The lack of communication and support from Etsy is so disappointing
I've reached out to other shop owners who have gone through a similar experience and they encouraged me to come to the Community and share what is going on.
If @nta58flx9piiejnb @HerrMoostache can offer me any help, it would be very much appreciated.
Sorry- this is not making sense to me-- if you never got some email to change your password- then you should still be able to get into that account. UNLESS you were hacked. I have been on the site for 14+ years.. I once had the same password for like 5-6 yrs.. I have never gotten an email from Etsy to change my password-- ever. ( this might be a new thing).
Did you get an email?? or a convo thru the system? If you got a real convo from Etsy it would be in the Etsy only folder in your messages. And for anything impt on my acct-- Etsy has never sent me an email-- it is generally on my finance page or across my dashboard.. Not an email.
Make sure you have checked which notifications you have set up and if need be you can delete the app and reinstall it. Lots of the time that resets things. If you are star seller- then you would have access to chat-- you might want to try that.
***I just checked this shop-- NO place did I see you mention the other shop-- that is a big rule on Etsy and can get this shop shut down--you need to mention both shops on each of your shops.,
I got that email from Etsy about resetting my password maybe 10 (?) years ago! I was so skeptical that it really was from Etsy I just sat there and looked at the screen. (I am on a PC--no app). All of a sudden I was signed out of my shop and nothing to do except wait for the email with the reset--which i did receive. Very warily I went thru the process and I guess it WAS Etsy generated as I could immediately sign in with the new password.
Nowadays I would be afraid of doing that with all the scams going around. No WAY would I believe that email was from Etsy.
And all that said--I, like the OP am no longer getting emails from Etsy when making a sale, getting a message, money sent to bank etc-(that started about a year ago)-however--I do get all the cr*p telling how my shop had done, etc--and no--I have not changed my settings at all, nor have they been changed.

When I logged into my shop, it was a notification box that popped up in the center of the screen. It was definitely from Etsy and not a scam. It said I had to reset my password then I could log back in with my new password. My password is old, so I understand for security issues that they need updated from time to time.
I didn't receive the email to reset my password so now I can't log into my shop. The solution is simple.....I just need the email to reset my password and then I will be able to log in again, but there is NO communication from Etsy.
*** I do mention the other shop on my about page. I thought that was where you were supposed to put it - have I got it in the wrong place?
