Hi
I’m new to Etsy and have a question about digital prints. As of now, My shop sells digital calendars and planners. I’ve read it should be in a PDF but also read it should be in PNG. If I want the buyers to be able to decid If they want to download and print or edit/write/fill in planner or calender , which file option do I use ?
Why not provide both files types?
PDFs are print files, PNGs are web files.

Also a PNG is just one picture. A PDF can combine multiple pictures into one file.
Hello - also a newbie here - hoping yo can help with this . . . can you please advise if I can upload 2 PNGs to 1 page and then present to customers as 1 PDF file with which they can then select each PNG separately off that same page? Each file is under 10 MB so the 20 MB limit is not an issue. I just realized my files are smaller than i thought so i would like to try this way.
Thank you for any clarity on this!!!
I use PDF's for my downloadable patterns but I include both A4 size files and Letter size files as well. I would not use PNG files as these are standalone images usually used for the web.
A buyer can use the PDF and use their stylist and fill in their calendar as well as open and edit to write using a keyboard... am i understanding this correctly?
PDFs are usually set up as non editable, printable only, unless you have the program that allows you to edit the PDF, like Adobe Acrobat Pro.
But you would also have to have some sort of program to edit pictures if you you use stand alone formats like PNG , JPG, TIFF, also
To do what you are talking about you would have to be selling an app that you wrote and produced. Most app stores have something like that for phones and computers, but to sell someone else's app is illegal.
