Oversized Etsy add listing pics in search

I am not sure if this is a test or I missed a thread regarding seeing Etsy add pics enlarged in search.  So far I see 1 large add pic per search page.  

I am wondering if these pics are random Etsy choices or can we pay to have the pics show up double size on search page?  It would actually be something a lot of shops might want to do since it does make your listing pop out completely on the page.

I am using both Chrome and Edge and all of a sudden all my thumbnail pictures are super blown up, in both browsers and on my Android phone.  The inside pictures are ok.  Please tell me this is just a glitch you are working on now to resolve.  My product images are distorted and of course out of proportion.  I thought it would resolve itself since I saw no major announcement in Technical Issues that this was site-wide.  But this distortion has been going on for over a week now.  In searching around I see it is not affecting all shops.  What's up? And please fix ASAP.  Thanks.

@FearlessAesthetics It sounds like you might be in a test a lot of us are seeing where the thumbnail image is being displayed in a square box within our shops, but still showing correctly in search results.

I contacted Etsy about this in my shop, some thumbnails larger and partially obscured because they are too big, and some have become tiny. They suggested I clear my cache and cookies. I did that and no change. It's an Etsy problem, and LOTS of people seem to be suffering through it. If enough people complain about it, perhaps they will admit it's a problem. I wish they would spend as much time getting rid of resellers as they do fiddling with things that are working just fine, sigh

I saw it as well, when I looked from my home page as a buyer instead of a seller on my phone. I was wondering if this was some sort of paid ad, but never saw anything and you are the first person that has mentioned this.

Yes, each time I saw this in search it was a paid Etsy ad.

It may be a test?  Etsy is always testing new things. 

But, I did have this happen to a single listing awhile back.  No matter what I did the initial photo was huge and looked poor.  I ended up having to reload new photos for that particular listing which fixed the problem.  So I'm sure that was a glitch.

Came across this thread as I just had same on my android chrome when searching as a buyer. Looked good (for the 1 listing) but it's a huge disadvantage to other sellers that can't do the same! Also loved to see a comment saying they wish they'd sort out the huge issue with resellers. I've lost 90% of my sale due to resellers and reported it to Etsy many times and not a single thing happens. It's disgusting Etsy huge lack of managing these resellers has become. Etsy just want the money and don't care how it comes in.

To clarify...what I was noticing were not "enlarged" images but the size of the ad it self was twice as big.  The image was fine but the display size took up the space of 2 regular squares on search page.  

Think of it like a billboard on Etsy search page. The size was double of a normal listing square but the image contained in the larger box was fine.
