Orders under £10 are incorrectly counting against star seller

Jump to solution

I have just noticed that I am not on track to get my star seller badge next month, due to the 'on time dispatch and tracking'

I have downloaded my report and found the 209 orders which didn't qualify, and the majority of them were orders under £10 that I havent sent tracked (as per guidance on the star seller page) , but the report incorrectly shows a higher price which is over £10 (This is the price before discounts were applied)

I have reached out to the etsy chat and spoken to Khris who confirmed that the orders were under £10 and shouldnt have impacted my star seller badge, and that i needed to raise this in this forum to get some technical help.

Please contact me urgently to confirm and to let me know how I should ship future orders

Thanks

Janice

Hello there,

Kindly know that orders of a certain value don't require tracking. We use the total value of the items before any discounts and excluding shipping and taxes. More information can be found in this Help Article: On-time shipping & tracking.

Thank you very much!

The threshold for required tracking is before discounts, shipping, or taxes - essentially the base  item price.

Unfortunately even the help page says "orders over a certain value" and what it actually counts is original item price.

How do we know this? From an admin post in the forums. Me and others pointed out to this admin that the help page on SS should be changed to clarify this, as at the moment it does not say that. They didn't bother responding.

there is a difference between value, and price

the value is the original price

it's the same differentiation that customs make, you have to put the original value, not the sale price

the wording (copied straight from the star seller page is "You only need tracking for orders that are £10 or more."

it doesnt say "value"

Hey There!

Aside from calculating tracking requirements using the total value of the items purchased before any discounts, not including shipping or taxes. We base it on the shop currency set up on the account. So if you are not a US seller but you use USD as shop currency you are required to add tracking to all orders.

If you are a seller outside the US make sure to set up the shop currency other than USD (like EURO, AUD, CAD, or GBP), so you are only required to add tracking if your order is $10 or more.

Thanks!

So let me just clairify, when you say you dont need to add tracking for orders of £10 or less (I am in the uK and my shops currency is GBP) it isnt in fact the order total? its the price before the discount is applied?

That should be made clear on the star seller page, because after seeing that i made changes to my business model based on that information and now I'm unlikely to hit star seller next month.

The wording on the star seller page is "You only need tracking for orders that are £10 or more."

very misleading, and I am very dissapointed and want to escalate this, please tell me how
