On time shipping and tracking stat not updating multiple days after shipping orders

Hi, I am hoping someone can help me with this. I am working towards star seller for next month and need to up my on time shipping stat by 2% to do that. Despite shipping out 6 orders on time in the past few days my percentage has not changed. I've done the math and this should put me above 95% but the stat won't update. Etsy, any explanation. I know it can take 24 hours to update, but it's been longer than that.

What was the "Ships By" date on the Orders you sent? It is near the end of October. Etsy assigns "On Time Shipping" SSP data to the Month the actual Order was DUE to ship, not the month it was actually Shipped.

Therefore, I an Order had, say, 3 Day Processing and was purchased 29 - 31 October then it would fall into November SSP statistica as it would not be due to Ship until November even though you actually shipped it in October.

This is intentional so as not to penalize Sellers unfairly for not Shipping on Time for the Current Month when the Order was not, actually, due to ship until the Next Month.

We see Threads like this every Month when Sellers who are hoping to improve SSP Stats ship many Orders early in the final days of the Month in an attempt to have these included for the SSP Badge. But it is not when the Order ships that is important, it is when the Order was due to Ship

Thank you, this is good to know. Is there a way I can easily see this date after completing the order? From what I can tell by looking at the order date and counting processing days, most, if not all of the orders were due in October.

@WhimsyBlindBooks It is not the date you complete the Order that assigns the Order to a pzrticular Month for SSP.

What matters is when the Order was due to be completed. One Listing of yours that I looked at had 1 - 4 day Processing so any Orders placed after 26 - 27 Oct would not be assigned to the October SSP data as they were not due to be completed until after 01 November.

Also SSP data uses UTC timestamps which may be many hours ahead of or behind a Shop's local time depencing on Location / Country.

If you have Orders which were due to Ship by 31 October and which have not updated on SSP data, you can check that the Tracking Numbers are entered correctly.

Are you using Etsy Labels?

Etsy uses the "Aftership" data base so you can also check that website to see if your Tracking is showing up on that site.

And to add to what @CarpetCollectionAU  has said---a lot of stats in the last couple of days of the month will also not count until the next month.  I.E., I once got a really bad couple of reviews (from the same buyer who bought multiples) on the very last day of the month--it took me too low for star seller but the next day I was surprised to see I was a SS! I finally figured out what had happened and fortunately I got enough good reviews in that month to offset those before they actually counted. Hope that makes sense! But things can not only glitch around here they can get very very strange. LOL

Sorry to jump in but I just want some clarification on the order dispatch dates.

My dispatch is 1-2 weeks, so if an order placed on 23rd October was due to ship anywhere from 30th October onwards, would that still not count towards the current month's (October) star seller?

Also a little worrying to hear that the last couple of days just don't count... What's the point in having the set review period if the last couple of days don't make a difference? 🫤

They all count, in the month they were due to ship, plus 1 or 2 days,

so you will have ones counted in the star seller tomorrow, that were due to ship last couple of days of July

@CuriousOwlShop Orders placed 23 Octoner with 1 - 2 weeks Processing will be assigned to the Month in which the latest "Ships By" Date falls.

2 weeks Processing takes the latest "Ships By" date into November, even if you shipped in October, so, these will not count towards the Badge/s awarded on 01 November, but they will count towards the Badge/s awarded 01 December.

Thanks for the responses, much appreciated. I just had a chat with Etsy that seems to contradict that though - I asked if shipping an order early in October counts for the current star seller period, even if it's not due out until November, and they said yes - so long as it's not late and has tracking info. So colour me confused! I guess we will see what tomorrow brings!

@CuriousOwlShop Etsy Support is often just reading from a "script" which they do not fully comprehend.

For Customer Service rating, the information you were given is correct.

But for SSP rating, Etsy uses the Month the Order was due to Ship to assign it to On Time Shipping CSV.

This is intentional as it avoids unfairly penalizing Shops for not shipping ny the end of the Month when the Order was npt due to ship until the next Month.

In the same way, Messages are civen the full 24 Hours response time so, even if you reply to a Message within the current Month, if the 24 hours falls in the next Month, that reply will not count for the current Month.

Etsy used UTC Timestamps for SSP CAV data and this may be hours ahead of or behind a Shop's local time.

Also wondering if I update the 'dispatch time' on the order page (making it shorter, as I have a bunch ready to ship early today), would that make them count towards the month?

I used Royal Mail to dispatch and missing marking them dispatched on their website a few weeks ago, hence the need to try and get the score back up!

@CuriousOwlShop Most of our most "up to date" information comes from Forum Discussion and Etsy Moderator / Community Specialist comment in Forums,

The Help Center information is often days / weeks / months / years behind reality, unfortunately.

I do not think changing Processing Time / Ship By date on a past Order is even possible.

Ah sorry, I meant updating the dispatch on an open order, but I think I'm giving up for this month and dealing with my own mistake on shipping! Appreciate the info and replies.

Thank you everyone for chiming in. Update - I did not make SS for this month. Aside from the orders I mentioned in my original post, I had three orders specifically that came in on the 30th for a listing with a 1 day processing time. Meaning they were due the 31st. I shipped them out the same day (the 30th), but none of those orders updated towards my SS percentage for October. I guess I'm just wondering why there is this delay. I use Etsy shipping labels so there shouldn't be any issue there.
