HELP. ETSY NOT INFORMING ME OF NEW ORDER VIA E,MAIL. AM FINDING THEM PERCHANCE WHEN VISITING MANAGER
@ChristelleCreations - There has been a greater number of threads on this issue recently. But this same problem has been reported in the past & probably will be in the future. TBH it's probably some sort of glitch but not a priority for Etsy to track & fix.
What all shop owners should do is visit their shops at least once a day. Check for messages, sales, etc. It's all part of having a small business anyway & as you've seen relying on "someone" else not necessarily a good plan.
@ChristelleCreations Absolutely agree with @JMOldeVintage - you need to check your shop at least once a day, you cannot rely on emails. I get only a fraction of the emails I should be getting - I have been through every suggestion with Support, years ago, with no fix. How can it be an issue on my end, if I get SOME of the emails, but not all? It's definitely Etsy, and my main worry is that it probably affect a percentage of our Buyers as well, not getting their messages and emails. I have both the old and new Seller mobile apps, and while they may be delayed a few hours at times, they are always accurate in my sales and message alerts.
I would never depend on Etsy to run my business for me.
Would you open a b&m store and not go to it every day?
I don't know if Etsy states anywhere that they will send an email when a sale is made - don't know - don't care - I currently have 3 active shops on Etsy and the first thing I do every morning is grab a cup of coffee and proceed to log into all 3 shops to see what happened overnight. If I am not active in any of the shops during the day, I do the same thing every night. I do not sit around waiting for Etsy to tell me what's going on with my business.
Actually, I log in more than two times a day, but a reasonable shop owner should pop in at least once a day to see what's going on. It would help them also, if they would check out the dashboard to see what's new that might effect their business. If more sellers read the dashboard, we would have a lot less of "I lost my star because I didn't respond to a message that I didn't need to respond to" or other such complaints from sellers. Etsy tells us these things - we just need to pay attention.
We need to watch our own businesses - not depend on Etsy to do it for us.
If shop owners took the time to check out their shops daily they would not miss any sales.
Got it🥺
thank youCHRISTELLE
what others said.
I check my email, sure. But more than that, I check my Etsy shop multiple times a day. Right before I go to bed, too.
2 x Every day: dashboard, messages, forums
Often more frequently.
I’m on here at least twice a day, morning and evening, I don’t seem to have an issue, but why take chances.
An ETSY shop is like a living thing and needs attention. We do not rely on any automation to run our store and interact with our orders and customers. I would suggest you check your dashboard for daily activity, so you are running your business rather than ETSY. Best of luck in 2023
@ChristelleCreations: A quick search would show lots and lots of threads in this forum about issues with app and eMail notifications. The consensus is that a seller needs to check their shop for messages and orders at least daily via a browser until these issues are resolved.
"a seller needs to check their shop for messages and orders...until these issues are resolved"
The Twelfth of Never comes to mind.....
Thank you everyone🥰🥰🥰
