Numerous Orders - Repeat Customers

I just checked my etsy account this morning as I received about 48 new orders - stating not processed but I am not able to cancel any of them or refund at all . My cutomers are messaging me stating they never authorized the purchase!

I have reached out to Etsy Support and still waiting back to hear what is happening.

Anyone else have this issue? I can't be the only one

Also, apparently i didn't make star seller because my shipping was not on par - I sell digital downloads so no shipping to report there.

This has become very worriesome and troubling

For the payments still processing, you just have to wait until the payment processing company either clears the payments or rejects them. If the buyers' credit cards were compromised, they need to contact their credit card companies.

Double check sure all you listings say digital and not physical.

Re: Numerous Orders - Repeat Customers

I wonder if someone trying to order such high amounts of listings at the same time triggered their credit card company to consider it possible fraud?  48 orders is a lot to be not processed. Since they are still marked "not processed" you wouldn't be able to cancel because the sales haven't gone through.  As it is between the credit card company, the buyer and Etsy you won't be able to do anything until it gets sorted out.  I would have my customer contact their credit card company.

Re: Numerous Orders - Repeat Customers

This could be thieves testing stolen credit cards. Etsy’s payment processor is trying to protect you, waiting until the payment has cleared.

Great advice above - you have nothing to do with compromised credit cards, and should advise people to report suspicious activity to their bank and the police.

Quite often people will try to get free stuff by claiming they have been hacked… not your fault, or your problem!

Thank you everyone - it is different repeat customers but 48 of them. This is nuts! One customer did reach out and say his card weas compromised so hoping this clears up soon, pretty  scary for me as I've never encountered this before

Re: Numerous Orders - Repeat Customers

@LoveToday827   When I saw your Thread, I wondered about your situation coinciding with this one (ghost orders).
https://community.etsy.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Sale-Showing-But-Not-There/td-p/141422212

But you stated your 48 Orders say they are" in Processing" *(please correct me if wrong).  It's very odd to have so many in Processing, especially at the same time.  That's why I wondered if something weird was going on, similar to the above Thread which I gave you the link to.  If it doesn't relate, just ignore me.

Yes there is something weird going on- the orders were all in cancelled state some how. And this morning I cannot log into my Etsy Account , it says I have limited access. I am so devastated this is happening.

No one from Etsy has reached out to me either.

I don't know what to do
