Now even things on the listing pages aren't showing up right away!

How are we supposed to work like this when we can't even see the listings we just created? Are Etsy's servers drastically overloaded, or what? Work pages that are not front facing shouldn't be caching!

Some of mine show up immediately and some take a while. I’ve learned just to roll with it.

Wow...I'm cruising the forums to see if I can find ideas on how to improve my shop, and how to wrap my head around SEO, and I'm just finding more and more things that are wrong with Etsy lol Makes me feel like I can't win at this game.

I haven't had this issue, but it's good to know that it's another Etsy-ism in case it does happen to me.

@AAANativeArts - This is a real PITA, isn't it?!  I've had two instances this week where I had to construct listings on the fly for people who wanted specific things and it took ages for them to come up.  Other things that I don't care about (like just putting up daily listings) show up immediately -- of course!

My new listing has been up for a day, and it still doesn't show in my shop. I updated an old listing, and after the update, it disappeared from the search results. It's been four days now, and I can't find it at all.

@INNO3DCo: Have you tried searching for the listing within your own shop? That will tell you if the listing is indexed.

Since you appear to be using some trademarks without including YOUR licensing information in the listing itself, have you checked the 'inactive' tab on your listings manager page to see if Etsy deactivated it for a potential intellectual property violation?

Anytime you change something on a listing, it has to be re-indexed. That process can take a month or more to settle into its more or less permanent position. If you have a listing that is selling, it is best to just leave it alone.

And if you do make changes, only change one thing at a time, then wait 30 days to see if it made it better or worse before doing anything else. That way you can tell what effect that change had on your listing.

If I pull up a new window for Etsy the new listing will eventually show up.  Etsy is probably buggy right now because programs are being worked on.  Etsy has so many sellers that they don't need to prioritize sellers needs.  So it might be beneficial for them to work this way?  I'd assume after they're done with site changes things will run a bit smoother.

@AAANativeArts Sadly, I agree.  And lately these changes always seem to include programming errors and problems for sellers.

and then try to forget about them for 90 minutes.

and then check back.

i have no idea what etsy is doing down in their basement.

but whatever it is.

it is painfully slow.
