Notification cha-ching noise not working

Hello, is anyone else having an issue with the notification noise not working after a sale?

I'm on android and have checked settings in my phone and on tge app and have reinstalled it.

Not a massive issue, but I quite like hearing it.

I had that happen when upgrading my phone, go into the app, click on notifications and then click on "someone buys something from my shop"  You may find that it automatically switched off (also android)

I always had to reset the sounds after an app update. Eventually, I lost the "cha-ching" sound altogether. I downloaded the Zedge app, downloaded a "cha-ching" notification sound, and in the Etsy app, notification settings/sound for sold listings. I then selected the new sound, and it has played every time I received an order.

Hi, I don't think so, the sales I've had lately were in the night when my sound is off so I can't be sure. If i'm lucky enough to get another sale in the next year I'll let you know......(lol). Hope you get it sorted. x

There are many reasons for this - from an older phone, to volume settings.  I once had the volume turned off for my phone notifications by accident - because I still had the ringtone, I didn't realize most phones have different volume settings!  There's also a place in my phone app permissions I've needed to toggle on, once or twice, after updates.  If you have the sound notification turned on for for messages as well as sales, you can ask someone to send you a Convo to test it out - if that works, then you should also hear the Cha-Ching for your next sale, @PosieAndMarmalades  !

I changed phones recently and the Cha-Ching sound disappeared! I thought about quickly finding a way to bring it back.

But my husband was actually happy it wouldn’t go off in the middle of the night... and we both shouted 'Yes!'

Now I just get a text message instead. Lol. But those two words together still give me the same thrill!

Mine stops all the time. I just restart my phone and it works again.

Shut your phone off for 5 minutes and turn it back on.  If that doesn't work, try reinstalling the app.

I got a sale the other day and wondered why I didn't hear the cha-change sound, then realised I had muted my phone at the Drs office a week before and hadn't remembered to turn up the volume again.  I thought it had been quiet for a while....seniors moment, I am guessing it won't be the last, lol.

@PillowDetails , The two words are Cha-Ching!!, spelled just like that, with no sound.

I'm not sure if this answer will help you, but here’s what happens to me:

Whenever I make a sale, I get three notification messages on my phone. One from Etsy Seller, telling me which listing I sold. Another from the Etsy app, which shows those magical two words. And a third one from my email account titled Etsy Transaction.

As I mentioned, until a few months ago, one of these notifications used to make the Cha-Ching! sound, but now all of them are silent.

haha-- I have not heard the cha-ching in months (and yes I have regular sales).. got all the updates have deleted and started fresh- still nothing. I do get emails of sales and my email- I am able to create a sound just for Etsy.. not the cha-ching.. but at least I know about a sale. Am on Apple devices.

I hate missing a cha Ching, and will go to YouTube to play it for myself after a sale If I happen to miss it. It is a dopamine fix!

I’m on an iPhone so possibly irrelevant to you, however a few times I have accidentally bumped and turned off the little button on the top left which mutes sound and only realised when I also started wondering, “ where is the cha-ching sound?”
