Not showing up in search after selling on Etsy for 14 years

Hello,

I've been selling my handmade hats on Etsy for 14 years.  I have over 2240 sales and have consistent 5 star reviews.  

My hats have aways shown up on the first page of every category I sell in.  But now they don't show up at all.  I've been checking for over a week.

I can't really understand what's happening.

Have any other longtime sellers with many sales and 5 star reviews experienced this?

@HatsWithAPast  Ahh I went to do another search with just the words "linen cloche hat" and your cream linen hat with bow showed at the top under "Most Loved" so that's good AND you are on the first page further down. I check a listing every so often and sometimes it doesn't show on the first page and then later it does.  Actually one of my listings had the price changed to $12.04 from $9.95, but when I clicked on the listing it showed $9.95.  I always say the search engines are on steroids. lol

I did a test and can see your listing:

I did an incognito browser search with US user country setting (I am in the UK), and changed the listing page delivery to USA with zipcode 12345.

My test search term was "Cloche Hat in Spice European Linen with Vintage Flower Buckle"

The results for that did not include your listing because Etsy automatically applied a Vintage items filter, only 82 search results.

Removing the vintage filter and your listing was the 2nd listing after Ads on page 1 (there were 924 results, so would be 19 pages).

A few thoughts . . .

• are you testing logged out on using a private / incognito brower window? - this is necessary to prevent your own search history (either your user history or browser cookies history) from affecting Etsy's search results.
• are you checking for any filters automatically applied to your test searches?
• make sure your user settings are correct (bottom of pages), and also the listing page shipping destination

I usually just search from my shop's home page.

I never use the vintage tag in my listings.

If I look for linen cloche hat with everything set to USA, cream linen cloche hat is under most loved at the top, and is 15th row page one.

Interesting.  I see a filter just under most loved that says Estimated arrival:  Any time, May 9th, May 12th, May 19th, custom date.   This is parked right next to All Filters.

At the bottom a small clickable link About Estimated Arrival that points out this is not a guarantee.

Quote:  "This is an estimate based on the purchase date, the seller's location, and processing time, and the delivery destination and carrier.

Other factors – such as delivery company delays or placing an order on a weekend/bank holiday – may push the arrival of your item beyond this date."

Who will read this?  No one.

Yeah I bet it's because I changed shipping time from 4 weeks to 4 to 6 weeks.  I'm going to try reverting back to 4 weeks and see what happens.

I just repeated my test with "Beret in Dark Green Wool Crepe - 1930s Style Beret"

and your listing was not included.

So I removed the "-" hyphen from teh serach query and your listing was the first after ads on page 1, with 923 results

Additional thought . . .

• don't copy and paste your listing titles into your search query without stripping out oddball punctuation characters.

Commas or full stops (US: period) with a space after them should be OK. Hyphens are normally OK if they are between 2 words without spaces eg. "plus-size".

OP, I am in Texas and can find your European spice hat as the first one in search under "linen cloche hat." Etsy is geared up for Mother's Day sales so you are in the mixture. I hope you are getting better amid your medical issues.

"cloche hats" is a big general search, there are 16,962 results.

I see one of your listings on the 1st page of results, which is impressive ranking for such a big general search.

Etsy's search results are personalised to your search history. If you do not buy hats from shops that you are shown in search results then those shops will be removed (or de-ranked, I'm not sure which) from just your search results. That is why it is important to do your search testing logged out on a private / incognito browser window.

My test results - late and possibly not relevant. I'm in Florida. Term: Linen Cloche Hat in Taupe and Black

Logged in - Chrome - 961 results - Page 1 - 64 items - The first 4 are all Ads.  Next 4 are all the OP's hats. Third row more Ads. The next row is again, all the OP's listings. More Ads and then the results begin to include other shops' listings. The OP has 2 more listings included on this page. 
Interesting I do not see the "most loved", "Etsy's picks", "favorites" array of photos at the start of my search results.

Incognito - Edge - Search Term: Linen Cloche Hat in Taupe and Black
Results - 961 - Page one displays 76 results - Again, no "most loved" etc. displays.
The OP had 4 listings total randomly displayed on this page. There are more Ads included in these results - the final row in search is Ads. 

At least both searches did return the OP's listing based on my search term. I used no filters or sort by options for either. Both browsers are set to USA. In clicking on a variety of listings on page 1, the processing time did not seem to make a difference. I had results that would ship in 3 days & I'd receive in about one week to others that would not arrive until the end of May into the middle of June. 
Regarding the estimated delivery dates - some shops were outside the US; some shops' hats were made to order based on size versus using an adjustable "whatever" to get a good fit.
