Hi, I am Trace, I opened my shop sometime December of last year, I listed a few items and they were showing up at times on the main page, but for some reason only two of my listings keep showing up and i turn on the Advertise botton on all my candles and wax melts. can someone please help solve this?
my shop i https://www.etsy.com/shop/StThomasCandles
Thanks
Unless you are using a different browser or incognito browser, what you see in search will be different to what I will see, even using the same search term. Many different metrics go into the search algorithm for each individual.
You opened in the busiest time of the year. New sellers also get a higher search rank "honeymoon" so they are encouraged and get some traction on the site. But that comes to an end when you are moved into the main selling pool with far more competition. Visits and sales tend to ebb and flow.
I'm far from confident giving any advice about SEO but I think you could improve your titles. Having different labels on each candle/melt is distracting. A uniform label with the same font, style and format would help with a cohesive brand across your range. Take a look at other candle makers. Don't copy them but it will give you ideas on how to present and market your products in photos. Your photos are not enticing me to buy. I didn't click through but the props don't seem to match the scent. You have some wonderful photogenic ingredients that would look enticing.
I'd also rethink your slogan "Let's burn together" too. It needs more context.
@NewLook44: As mentioned, if everyone on this forum searched for the exact same phrase they would all get different results. Because of "personalized searches" you can NOT rely on anyone's search results to define how your listing is ranked. There are many many factors that affect listing placement and the relative weight of each factor probably changes constantly. Even exact word matches to your title no longer ensure that you will appear on page 1. Your listing may be appearing on page 251 and Etsy is only showing the first 250 pages to the world.
Advertising a listing is not going to automatically cause it to be seen in search. While it is not quite this simple, a listing must first rank high enough to be seen in search results for that person and then if the listing is advertised it might be pushed up in results.
Ok, thanks for the information. I was just kinda worried about the issue. ALSO, I haven't made any sales since I started over 3 months now, even though i only have maybe 10 candles on my shop.
You think I need more in order to gain sales.?
