Not receiving payouts

Hi,

I started a new Etsy page a few months ago and I am yet to receive any payouts. I have spoken to Etsy via live chat multiple times to get this resolved and I am not getting anywhere. To confirm my account is not in reserve and neither are my funds. I’ve been told there is a ‘payment delay’ where order funds should be paid to me 14-20 days after order minus the fees.

However this isn’t happening. My payment account is showing as £0 available for deposit. Current balance £213 and funds not yet available £281

My first order was on the 30th August, so 14-20 days has well passed. I’ve checked my CSV and there are expected payment dates next to each order, which many have now passed.

On live chat no one is helping, keep being told they will escalate to another team member and to be wait on live chat then not receiving anything through again. There is no option for a call back in the support section either.

Any help is really appreciated. Thanks

Re: Not receiving payouts

etsy takes fees for ALL sales straight away

so the 20 day funds that would have been released, were probably eaten up by fees of past sales and fees for present sales

and if you use etsy labels, even more fees are taken out for postage.

With low cost items, it will take a long time for your 20 day past sales to outstrip fees to date

......

if you look at your payment account

Look at all your fees TO DATE

they are probably larger than your sales up to 20 days ago

Re: Not receiving payouts

Thank you I will look into this.

So according to my account, I’ve got £224 in my current balance. So I’m assumingthese are funds from orders that have passed the 20 days.

Looking back since the start of my shop, I’ve spent £300 on fees and Etsy labels. So this could explain the reason for the delay?

If this is the case, surely you’re always going to be chasing a goal that’s impossible to hit. Because whilst ever the shop is receiving regular orders, the total fee’s will carry on increasing? Thanks

@littleheartspaperuk Are you shipping free? Because unless you are giving away your products there is no reason why you should be in the negative. If you are shipping free, don't do that.

Re: Not receiving payouts

because your items are so low cost, and the fixed part of the fees are 46p in total, on top of the %age, it will depend,

If your sales are increasing, then fees will be eating a lot into the "old" money

and if you buy labels on etsy, then they eat into it too

the £224 is "new" money, all the old money would have been eaten in fees/postage

Re: Not receiving payouts

No, I’m not offering shipping for free. My listings are priced correctly I’ve been doing this for years. The issue is I’ve had a quick influx of orders since starting this shop so most of my funds aren’t available yet. But the fee’s for every order I’ve ever had outweigh the available funds.

I’m not in the negative. I’ve earnt over £500 and fee’s have been around £300 includingthe Etsy labels and a lot of new listing fee’s with it being a new shop.

I’m just confused how I will ever catch it up. Whilst ever the shop grows in size day by day the fee’s overall will probably always out weigh the available funds.

Is there a cut off where this will stop happening?

Re: Not receiving payouts

CraftCornishmaids is right, your item price is working against you as Etsy will keep you on a 20 day hold on each order for 180 working days (9 months)

In addition to this, you could also receive a reserve which is a further 45 days on top of the 20 days unless you use Etsy labels or tracking.

Any new sales that come in, are taken from your previous pending payouts, Etsy does not wait for their funds, they are taken instantly.

It is best to calculate funding your Etsy shop for 9 months to be on the safe side, if the hold is lifted earlier it is a bonus, if not make sure you can fund your shop, materials & postage for this period.

Your cards look nice and clean, good luck with your shop!

Re: Not receiving payouts

Thank you. Etsy have told me numerous time that the 20 day hold is per order. So for example order 1 comes through, that will paid 20 days later. Then order 2 and so on. But that isn’t the case! Just wish Etsy knew what was going on because they can’t even tell me!

Re: Not receiving payouts

@littleheartspaperuk

the order is paid after 20 days,

IF, there is anything left from fees-to-date

your fees are eating into the money , so when it comes to releasing it, it's already been spent

Re: Not receiving payouts

You get 1 sale on the 1st of October for 5 GBP, this sale is paid out on the 20th October. Reductions from this are your fees, postage, materials etc.. you are then sent the balance on the 20th October. but.. 2 more sales for 5 GBP each came in before 20th October, for example, you were due 2 GBP from sale 1, the fees, postage, materials etc.. from sale 2 and 3 are (example)  6 GBP

Due 2 GBP from sale 1

- 6 GBP fees etc from sale 2 and 3

Pay-out due on 20th October: MINUS 4 GBP

That is why you end up with no pay-out
