I was using pirateship yesterday to create shipping labels for some of my orders, and when I was done I noticed there was one order still left in my queue. When I checked my Etsy shop, it was not in the Order list. It did show up on my phone app, which I only ever use to check for messages when I'm out of the studio. When I click on the order on the app, it just gives me an error message. I contacted Etsy about this, and they said they were aware of the problem and are working on it, but I thought it might be important to let other know that this glitch exists! If you are relying on the Etsy desktop for all your Orders & Shipping info, you may be missing some orders! My order has been there since Saturday and I knew nothing about it.
It was the same for me 2 hours ago. The orders of the last week were suddenly missing. I then clicked on something else in the dashboard, then again on orders - and there were all orders to see again.
But I was on a desktop pc, not the app
Mine isn't a random on-and-off. My order does not show up EVER on my desktop. I currently have four active orders showing, but the number says there are five. If I click on the link in pirateship that says "show this order on etsy" I get an internal server error notice on Etsy. Same if I plug in the order number in search. Thankfully I can process a shipping label for it via pirateship so my customer can get what they paid for, but I hope Etsy fixes this pronto because this is a big problem. If I didn't use pirateship for labels I'd be up a creek without a paddle for this one.
It appears that Etsy is aware of all these bugs and is "working on it". The problem is they provide no updates to the community, not even an ambiguous correction date, and don't seem to care how it affects sales or the reputation of Etsy.
There is also a problem in the Star Seller stats calculation for processing times that is dropping the stats falsely and knocking some out of the program. After several back and forth communications with Etsy, I received the latest update (because I keep responding to the ticket) from an individual in technical. Which actually told me nothing and did nothing to correct the star seller stats. LOL I am quickly losing confidence in this platform. Here is the update I received on this particular issue:
"This is _____ from Etsy technical support team! I'm reaching out to you in regards to your concern that you are seeing one order with no processing time on you star seller shipping score dashboard.
Looking it at here I can see my colleague already informed you that this is an ongoing issue our engineering team is already looking into. We apologize for the inconvenience, we do not have a definite timeframe on when this issue will be fix but rest assured that our team is already looking into this."
So is it an actual order? Was it paid and processed? Was it canceled by Etsy? Are there just legit customer orders hidden and the answer is " we are aware of this?" Thank goodness you have PirateShip or you'd never know of the order. Can YOU even cancel it since you can't see it? With all the scammer stuff lately who knows WHAT is happening? I would be wary of shipping but if you can't cancel what can you do? You'd be better off taking it off Etsy as they can't seem to get their %^&* together to fix it. But then you risk sanctions from Etsy. It is ridiculous.
I checked my finance report and did receive the payment for the order, and the Etsy tech confirmed this as well. The catch is since I cannot access the order I wouldn't be able to cancel or refund it if I wanted to.
I cannot even print an invoice for it. I was able to create a shipping label via pirateship.
