Need Help with Account Suspension Due to TAX ID Verification Issue

I urgently need your advice on an issue with my account suspension. Etsy asked for my tax information, including my EIN, to keep the marketplace compliant with regulations. I've entered my EIN and business name accurately, but I was notified that my information "does not match IRS records," leading to the suspension of my account.

I've double-checked my EIN and business name, and I'm confident they are correct. I've also been in touch with Etsy Seller Support. They have told me to reach out to the IRS, even though I'm certain my information is accurate. I suspect the issue might actually be on Etsy's end—perhaps with their verification process or user interface.

Has anyone else been through this? How did you resolve it? Are there any other steps I should take that I may not be aware of?

How did you get an EIN without first having an SSN?

@KnodosCrafts Everyone is the US has a Social Security Number. You should be able to use that. Also, verify that the paperwork you submitted matches in all aspects. Exact lettering and punctuation on names, addresses, etc.

I have LLC at usa but I am not citizen so I don’t have it . I am using my EIN number for tax purposes

How are you claiming that your shop is US based and you NOT have a Social Security Number? Even if you are not a US citizen and you have a green card you are eligible for a Social Security Number, Claiming that you are US based and you are not may be an issue,

Therein is likely your problem. Was your LLC approved before you applied for your EIN? Make sure your LLC is approved first before applying for your EIN to avoid having an EIN attached to the wrong LLC name (if your LLC filing gets rejected).

I don't think it's possible to get an EIN without a social security number. I never had an issue complying with Etsy's tax regulations. Always a good idea to just be honest, list the country you are based in and the issues will go away.

@KnodosCrafts: The way that the various anti money laundering laws were explained to us is that the platform (Etsy in this case) is required to verify your identity based on how you file your income taxes - many LLCs actually file on the owner's personal income tax return and then your personal information is what is required as the LLC is not considered a distinct legal entity but rather a shield for liability.
