My star seller removed because says I don’t replay in time my messages, but that’s not true. some times I don’t answer because it’s finish reply from costumer like “thank you” replying my thank you. Or ok or some thing my costumer writes and not need answer.
All initial messages whether from a buyer, seller, spammer, friend, needs a reply, you may not think so, but, to keep your SS badge, you either reply or send it to spam. This has been Etsys mandate since its inception, you may not like it, but a reply is necessary, if keeping the badge is important to you. You don’t need to keep replying to messages, just the new ones.
They need to be replied to if it's a new message thread. "something my customer writes and not need answer" (I auto corrected) does need an answer if it's a new thread.
The star seller rules have been extremely clear for around 3 years now.
You have to reply to ALL new messages or mark as spam.
It doesn't matter if you think those new messages need a reply or not, they do.
If you mark as spam you won’t receive any new messages from those customers, and they’ll be unable to reply to any messages in an existing thread.
Plenty of info on the help pages as to how Star seller works:
How to Become a Star Seller – Etsy Help
@Meowtifulcreations: The Star Seller metric for Messages is very simplistic and binary - either you replied to (or marked as SPAM) that first message of EVERY new incoming thread within 24 hours or you did not. And it does not matter who sent it, the subject matter, if it is a duplicate or blank or anything else.
You have none of the three Star Seller badges, so the problem could be not just the messages.
NFL Dallas Cowboys is trademarked. Do you have permission from them to sell your earrings?
Same for Herbalife,
If someone takes the time to message you they may not need a reply, but they deserve a reply. It's being courteous/polite.
Yes, particularly if it's from a buyer or potential buyer. I was taught to always say "thank you" - even though I hated the sox Aunt Emma sent me.
It can get quite crazy, a buyer writes to say thank you and you have to reply and say thank you for thanking me haha!!
Yes, @JJewellerySuppliesUK thank you for writing this.
Etsy doesn't read our messages to make a determination as to whether it needs a reply.
And ... we wouldn't want them to do that either.
some times I don’t answer because it’s finish reply from costumer like “thank you” replying my thank you.
You do not have to reply to replies within 24 hours. Check your CSV to see which messages are actually counting against you.
If it is the first message in the thread, you either have to answer it or mark it as spam. If the customer just sends a message that says "Thank you" you should just say something like "You're welcome." If they respond again because they think they have to, you do not have to respond to the followup message as long as it is in the same message thread.
It says right on the star seller page that you have to respond to all new messages. This is not new. Star Seller metrics (and instructions) have been around for a long time now.
not all messages require replies in real life ... but for Etsy star seller badges, only the Etsy star seller rules count.
