Re: Not able to send message

@DrlnsCreations   This is a scam.  The reason you were not able to respond is that Etsy probably already removed the scam account.  Check the box for that message, and mark as spam - on desktop, not on the app.

Also, on desktop - you will see a section in messages "From Etsy" - only the real and legitimate messages from Etsy will show there - all others should be marked as spam.

Re: Not able to send message

Hi, This was scammers are trying to get your banking information so they can steal from you. And I'm sorry you were targeted. There has been an infestation of them here unfortunately, targeting new Sellers as well as seasoned ones. Oftentimes, they appear shortly after someone lists their first item/s. These thieves are using "Verification" as one of their scams, posing as Etsy Staff/Support, etc.   When you receive a LEGIT Message from Etsy Support/Staff, etc., it will appear in the "From Etsy" Folder (in Messages). If it isn't there, Mark the Message as Spam (so you don't get dinged for S Seller).  *The "From Etsy" Folder is not on the App, however (you must use a browser instead).

Also for future, many scammers are posing as "Buyers", stating they need your email for an Order. They don't, Etsy already has it. When you receive a LEGIT Order, it will appear in "Orders & Shipping" (Left Column of Shop Dashboard); if it isn't there, you have no Order.  Mark the scammer's Message as Spam (so you don't get dinged for S Seller).  And never click on links or engage with them.

Honestly, I don't get why Etsy can't nail these FAKE accounts who are impersonating Etsy Staff/Support, etc. It's happening way too often. Here is the Announcement about the "From Etsy" Folder (currently this is in past Announcements).

Here is the other Announcement "Protect Your Account from Scammers" (it is also in past Announcements).

Hope this is helpful to you, and may this garbage cease.

Re: Not able to send message

@DrlnsCreations: "... but the message will not send ..." If the message is something like "User Name is Invalid" usually that means that the account has been closed (either by the user or by Etsy). Just in case, you should make sure to mark the message as SPAM (at last report you cannot do that using the seller app only a browser, even your mobile browser, or the buyer app).

Was the message in the "From Etsy" section on your Messages page when checking messages using a browser? If not, it is a SCAM. Real messages from Etsy are now going into their own section (labeled as "From Etsy") on your Messages page https://community.etsy.com/t5/Announcements/New-From-Etsy-section-in-Messages/m-p/143722497#M1899 but apparently this is only true when using a browser.
