So it started a couple months ago. The speedy replies badge was taken away because I didn't reply to an obvious scam message, even when I marked the message as a scam. I didn't particularly worry that much as I might have done that incorrectly. In the last two review periods (months) I've been able to produce a 100% message response rate. However, there is no speedy replies badge and that I "have to keep on going". It seems obvious now that there is a persisting bug in the system that does not accurately reflect message response rates. I wasn't quite sure where to report this and only this Technical Issues forum came up. I hope this is the right forum to place these type of issues. Hopefully I can get this fix, in this month or at least the next.
Kind Regards,
Dice Deli.

So it started a couple months ago
For the badges shown now, etsy counts
August, September, and October messages
If it was a couple of months ago, it's still counted for the badges shown now.
If you go to the service stats
click on "PREVIOUS review period" - you can download the message and tracking csv's
you can then see how many new message threads you had, and how many etsy things you missed
...
for 95%, you have to have at least 20 new message threads, and only one missed, in the 3 months review period

Re: No Speedy replies badge? Miscalculated?
"The speedy replies badge was taken away because I didn't reply to an obvious scam message, even when I marked the message as a scam."
Instead of leaving that message without a reply, you needed to put it in the SPAM folder. You can still move the message to spam and you might have a chance at next month's badge.
Etsy doesn't look at messages, and ALL messages either need to be replied to or spammed.
There is no mistake with the calculation. The message wasn't dealt with, so it counts against you.
Etsy employees can not "fix" your metrics. It is all automatically run by bots. The system is binary - answer message? yes/no.
Better luck next month.

Re: No Speedy replies badge? Miscalculated?
I did mark it as spam and put it in the spam folder when I first got it.

Re: No Speedy replies badge? Miscalculated?
Help me out here. I know you can put a message in the spam folder. But how do you "mark" it as spam?

Re: No Speedy replies badge? Miscalculated?
I have just checked and there is no marked as spam, unless it is the pop up when the message first comes in.
Not sure if I am going mad but was there not an option to move the message to the spam folder from the inbox? no longer seeing this.
There is a "report" option now (not sure I have seen this before)
Has it all changed in the past 24 hours or am I going mad?

Re: No Speedy replies badge? Miscalculated?
@CryzalisMasksUK No, you're not going mad! It just changed from 'spam' to report and it had to have been within the last few hours. When this OP first opened, I checked my messages and it was still 'spam'.
The option above the messages is report, but the list of folders still says spam.

Re: No Speedy replies badge? Miscalculated?
@DiceDeli have you actually checked the CSV to see IF in fact it was the SPAM message that caused this issue? It may be something else! ASAIK, marking a message as SPAM means the same as placing the message in SPAM folder ... but from what I see, there is no SPAM ... there is only REPORT (same as spam but different verbiage). Anyway, I would recommend checking your messages CSV to ensure what actually caused the missed messages STAR.

Re: No Speedy replies badge? Miscalculated?
I lost my longtime star seller badge because of serious power outages here in Asheville NC during Hurricane Helene and aftermath. Support promises to "have their team look into it" but so far no help. I doubt I will ever get it back at this point

Re: No Speedy replies badge? Miscalculated?
star seller is only for the previous 3 months,
so things will fall off
