I have a listing for yarn that originally had nine color variations for several months.
I added five new color variations and didn't think anything of it. A couple of weeks later, a customer purchased one of the newer colors. While fulfilling the order, I double-checked the remaining quantity while standing there looking at the yarn. The new color variation and the other four I recently added are not in the listing variations. Hmm, odd. The colorway picture for them is still there so I didn't dream that I made those variation changes.
I re-entered the colorway names and SKU #, which Etsy' remembered' in autocomplete. I saved the listing, ensuring everything was in order. I thought I had resolved the issue.
However, the problem resurfaced today. The same five color variations were missing again. I re-entered the colorways, and Etsy once again remembered the SKUs in autocomplete.
What is going on? Has anyone else had a variation that just wouldn't stick? So far, it seems to be only this listing.
So frustrated! Why, after a YEAR, are there still all these bugs?
I could not for the life of me figure out why my 3 variations would not stick using the new form. I thought it was weird that it was asking me for a quantity every time I clicked on variations. That doesn't even make sense! You add the quantities and prices in variations after you create the variations.
So I finally just put "1" in and went ahead and published it and it was saying there was only "1" available even though I have 4 items in three variations. WHAT?
Anyway, I went around in circles for a while trying to figure it out and then, in frustration, clicked on the link to the old form and was able to easily enter my variations, as per usual, and then edit for quantities.
Thanks, etsy, so nice that you've got our backs on this forced change that's impossible to use like we want. Can't wait to see what happens on the 25th.
@ForeverWindingWool The workaround is to use the old format that WORKS!
Are you using the new listing form? This is a reported issue.
@cindylouwho2 I don't remember if I used the new form the first time it happened or not. This time, I did because the new form automatically popped up first, and I'm trying to get used to the goofy thing.
Great. *sigh* Has there been a workaround, or should I keep checking this listing weekly?
@ForeverWindingWool I am not sure if anyone has found a permanent solution yet. I hope someone who has experienced this will pop in with advice (or at least links)

Looking for answers I read the seller handbook article:
https://www.etsy.com/seller-handbook/article/1128070425806
Trying to calm down but no matter what method I've used, from starting a new listing in the new format, clicking on the variations tab, copying a listing, editing a listing, NOTHING works. You can create the variation but you cannot add quantities or prices.
Well, you can't do any of this in the new format but it's business as usual, time saving and easy, when you use the current form.
According to the article this new format is three times faster? In what way is any of this "3 times faster" or time saving in any way?
Well, I was lacking in motivation but now I'm going to try to get as many listings done in the current WORKING format till 11:59pm on June 24th!!
@FunkyJunkyVintage While Etsy does say the new listing form is faster or sellers, the 3x faster part is about Etsy adding new features. Which, of course, is the whole reason we have a new listing form.
I suppose I misinterpreted that statement, silly me, thinking etsy would actually make things easier for sellers. Probably registered it that way because the article is titled, "Save Time With the Updated Listing Form." Save what time?
Having a hard time with my reading comprehension due to the steam coming out of my head and the vibrations from the heart palpitations this is giving me. Here we are in the 11th hour and it's still broken, i.e. I've read reports that they still have known issues.
@FunkyJunkyVintage I see people reporting that Chat is telling them to revert back to the Old Listing Form. Well that's lovely, that option will go away on June 25. And I don't believe for a minute those remaining glitches will be fixed by then.
It's so frustrating. I keep coming back to how they've had this in development for a year?
It's not like some dumb thing like changing colors or moving things around in our shops, this is a major part of how we do business.
I can't get my head around why they can't get things fixed instead of over-promising and under-delivering like they have.
Not to mention they can't even throw us a bone regarding whatever progress is being made to fix these things.
Contact Etsy support via chat and ask them to escalate this to the proper department. It's been weeks since I reported the issues I'm having, I'm finally getting a reply from the correct department. So Etsy is responding. Make sure to take screenshots. There is a large disconnect between sellers and Etsy. So we need to make them aware of these issues or they may not know how large the problem is nor have the opportunity to address it in time. Because this is a needed tool for us and it doesn't work for many, we need to be communicative. Especially since there is an approaching deadline where this will be all that's available to us.
Still having the same problem.
Did anyone found a solution for this problem?
