This morning checking the Etsy sellers app I see I have a new message from an overseas buyer (Italy) asking a question. But when I went to respond on my laptop the message wasn't there? I refreshed the page still no new message found. Went back to the app and responded there. The nice work pops up as it usually does. But now I don't even see it in the app unless I search for it. Turns out it's in my SPAM folder. Searching messages I don't show old messages from this buyer marked as SPAM. Is Etsy now deciding for us which new messages are SPAM?
Yes, they seem to be. I have seen several posts on this in the past couple of days and I got one from a "new" potential buyer. What I did was answer her and then moved the message to my inbox as "not spam". We have managed to correspond now about an item she wishes to order. Not all sellers are having this work, tho. You have to play around. Some can be answered from spam and some have to remove it first. Then you have to watch for that person's replies as some of the relies go to spam (mine did not).
Like everything Etsy I doubt this will be fixed in any near time frame so I now check my spam folder at least 1-2 times daily!
that sounds exhausting!
hey puppy?
when did etsy start putting this message in our messages.
To stay protected, stay on Etsy. Never follow links to other sites, and don’t share contact, account, or financial info with anyone in Messages. Learn how to spot spam.
because i just noticed it today.
Thank you for posting this. Because of your post I checked my spam folder and saw that i had a message from a potential customer, too.
