Hello ! I received today a mail from [This content has been removed by Moderation. We ask that you please review Section 1, Item 1 of our Community Policies before posting in the Forums.] who needs my e-mail address : Etsy ask it (yes ! yes !)... without it, she can't buy my beautiful 1/6 set of necklaces for dolls... what a pity. OF COURSE IT'S A SCAM !!!!!!!!
Etsy never ask the e-mail address of the seller... Etsy already has our address. Please do not ask to this kind of strange message : it leads to huge problems. Take care of you and your shop !...
I've already informed Etsy Help Center. New sellers are naive sometimes...
I think this is not a problem just for new sellers. I am not a new seller and I got a scam message few days ago. I tell you honestly, if I did not read about the email scams so much in these forums, I might have actually fallen for it. I mentioned that before - they even got that patronising Etsy speak right.
It is really helpful that Etsy now created new 'From Etsy' section in our Etsy mailboxes.
So even experienced sellers should be careful.
I am also glad you informed Customer Service. I think that is one step a lot of people don't do. They just spam the message but if we don't let Etsy know, these scammers will keep going and target somebody else.
I think it's also important to inform Etsy from these Spam... It takes a few minutes, and it's better for the community !
Thank you for sharing! Can never hurt to be too mindful of current scams.
