New Seller App not available for my device, even though specs say it should be?

I am not able to install the new seller app on my phone; it says it's not compatible with my device. I am running Android 7.1.1 and the specs say we need Android 7.0, so I should be fine. Any thoughts? Any Etsy technical staff here to answer? Thanks!

Looking at the required OS in the play store, it says Android 8.0 and up.

I have a similar problem - the app installation says my device is too old!!!  WELL ETSY I cannot afford a new phone!  Guess closing my shop will be the answer.  I hate it when Etsy Tech thinks we're so financially able to do things, but buying a new phone is out of the question for me since all fees are more than I can afford and let's face it sales are away down, at least for me so I end up paying monthly fees out of pocket.  Also paying for ads I haven't signed up for hurts financially.

Why can't you use the browser instead on your phone, you don't need app to run shop. I only use it for cha-Ching anyway.

I run my shop from my desktop. I only have the app for message and sales notifications.

I'm running Android 7.0 so the phone isn't compatible with the app.  I'm certainly not buying a new phone just to access the app.  I think it's exceedingly arrogant of Etsy to only develop the app for 8.0 and above.  

I only use the app to reply to messages.  However, that's very useful because I'm away from base every afternoon and, if I get a message from a buyer who desperately needs the items and has paid for Express shipping, I can probably rush back in time to despatch that day.  Now, I won't get the message until I log into the laptop - by then it's too late.

Even if the message isn't urgent, I like to reply quickly.  It pleases the buyer, it pleases Etsy.  It's good customer service.

I am having the same problem with my Android.  I am away from my PC in the afternoons and sometime at night.  Having the cha-ching helps me respond fast to the buyer and etsy.  A new phone now is not in my budget. Once again left in the dark.

To access the browser site on your phone, use your search bar and enter Etsy.com - do not log into any of the apps.  For a while, I was being forced into the Buyer app when I tried this, and I needed to disable something in my phone settings to fix that.
