Went to download the new app on my phone, get this message saying: "Your device isn't compatible with this version." Wonderful. Now I need a new phone for Etsy? The old app worked just fine.
It's something that happened by accident, but I have an older tablet that can't run past IOS 11, and it's got the original app on there and it still works. Maybe see if you can download an older version of it?
App developers have to keep up with the IOS versions of devices as they are updated. It gets to the point sooner or later that apps of all kinds will no longer run on older operating systems. It has happened to me. I had to replace my iPad several years ago because I could no longer access important apps that I need. This kind of thing isn't an Etsy-only issue, it happens all the times to developers.
@LadyInStitches Right - I totally understand that. But it may work for anyone who doesn't have a newer IOS for a short time until it is not able to be used permanently. Crossed fingers - it'll last until the new app is able to support somewhat older IOS systems.
Same thing has happened to me i’m running an old device but it was working great. I had to do a service reboot so deleted the app and when i tried to reinstall i cannot and it hasn’t offered the older version which functioned well . Any suggestions on what to do @etsy?
@dlcgems: As @CuriosAnCollectibles said, use a (mobile) browser. And based on all the reports about issues with the app, it will probably also be a more pleasant and efficient experience.
