New App ~ Cha ching Issue on Android

Hello ~ tried to get help from customer support but once again to no avail so I am coming here for help from fellow sellers. Has anyone had an issue with receiving the 'cha ching' notification on the new app on an Android phone? And if so, was there a solution?

Agree! I fed back in the. Beta version that I didn’t like the words cha-ching. Bit childish and 1 new order with item is what you want to know with price. Buyer name not needed. Live and miss the cha-ching sounds though!

iPhone - My cha ching went away about a month ago. I fiddled with it, updated my OS, talked to Apple and fiddled with it some more. It started working for a few days then went silent again. I agree it is way less exciting not having the tone sound off when you make a sale.

I am now on the new app thought itvwould be straight forward no  sound as you all say but also  its asking for me to update my shipping  status  so go right through it and then it won't accept my postcode I only sell in UK so don't ship abroad so I can't even add any more items to sell.

I got my first sell using the new app and no cha- ching sound just a normal notification sound though it spelled out the word cha-ching. I have to somehow find and download that cha-ching sound and set that to the new app to get the cha-ching sound.

Started using the new app and from day one I have not had the cha-ching.   I went into settings and the default sound is now set to Chime.  I looked through the list and the cha-ching sound is not in the list of app approved sounds.  Is there a way to get it onto the list?

the cha ching is my favorite part .... and the other notifications too

on my iphone the new app hangs ... I get that screen with the cartoon people and tap it, swipe it .... sometimes nothing happens, sometimes it works albeit with a delay ... when I turn my phone off and then on it works a few times ... wonder what the impact will be if sellers who are in the habit of using their iphones become less engaged because of how funky the new app is

Has anyone heard back from Etsy about this issue? It is amazing how that little cha-ching sound would brighten my day when I heard it!  Am losing my enthusiasm for working on my store without it.  I tried updating my notification sounds on my phone.  I get a sound for messages, but not for orders even though I have it marked that I do want them.

Same issue with iPhone too….I’ve lost the sound notification for a few weeks now.

The Etsy-furnished cha ching has had problems on and off for years. I solved it by assigning my own sound for sales. I use an antique door bell. You can pick whatever you like from sounds that come with your phone. Or, you can go out on the Net and download the Etsy cha-ching (or something else), then have it play from your phone rather than have it come from the Etsy app. I have assigned different sounds for sales, favorites,  messages, etc. Easy peasy with my Android.

When we're referring to "The new app" are we referring to the app that came out about a year ago, or have I missed something?  If it's the app I have, which was referred to as the new app when it came out, then the cha-ching on my android comes and goes at will.  I regularly have to delete it and reload it to get the cha-ching back.
