Hello Etsy Community,
I hope this message finds you all well. I wanted to share a recent development and seek insights from fellow members who may have faced a similar situation.
My Etsy Shop and account (Mystic.Scars) recently faced a permanent suspension, and Etsy's Member Services team has stated that reinstatement is not an option. I've reached out to Etsy Support for more details, but the responses have been limited.
Adding to the complexity is the presence of a remaining balance in my account. I'm uncertain about the process for disbursing these funds and would appreciate guidance on the steps involved.
On a related note, I want to emphasize that to the best of my knowledge, I haven't engaged in any activities that would violate Etsy's terms of use. If there were any unintentional infractions, I am eager to understand the specific reasons behind the permanent suspension.
Your insights and experiences would be highly valuable during this challenging time. Thank you for your consideration.
Best, Scars
Once Etsy states is is permanently closed, that is it.
I don't know the number of days or months, but eventually Etsy will release your money. Perhaps somone else will chime in with better information.
Etsy would only close your shop if you violated the terms of use. So something was wrong. Once you have one shop closed, you cannot open another. Etsy will not allow it.
Before your shop was suspended, did you receive any notifications regarding infringement? Perhaps relating to Spiderman, Iron Man or the Rolling Stones?
Etsy will hold your funds for six months just in case either of your 2 buyers have a problem and files a claim that asks for a refund.
@ScarsBiz: "I want to emphasize that to the best of my knowledge, I haven't engaged in any activities that would violate Etsy's terms of use. " A cached version of your shop clearly shows that you were selling items that potentially were infringing on other people's intellectual property rights and which could be therefore considered as counterfeits. Did you include your licensing information in each applicable listing so that Etsy knew you were not selling the items illegally?
@BagmakerSupply How did you find the cached version? When I try on Google, the cached is missing lately.
@UniqueGiftOrnaments: cache:https://www.etsy.com/shop/[#ShopName#] will search the web cache of your browser's default search engine.
If Etsy says that reinstatement is not an option, they mean it, and it is usually a lifetime ban.
They will hold your funds for 180 days to be used for refunds as and when they occur, after that if there is anything left they will pay you out.
Something has necessitated someone from Etsy looking at your account (a customer complaint, or a report or series of reports pointing out issues with the shop). If they looked and saw multiple issues (IP infringement etc) they may take proactive measures and close you down.
