So I became a US citizen a few years ago and changed my surname to that of my Husband, decided to open up my Etsy store again last week and was informer by Etsy that I had to upload an ID to verify my name change.
So I uploaded it, as well as my marriage certificate and Naturalization certificate, its been a week and zero response from Etsy, my money is quiet literally being held hostage until someone does their job and reviews the documents I've uploaded.
I've uploaded my ID multiple times, and despite Etsy saying it takes 48hrs to review - nothing.
I've contacted support, and of course - no reply.
Anyone else had this issue?
Hello,
The ETA for response varies on a case-by-case basis, and a separate team is handling the ticket you recently filed. Any further communication on the matter, if applicable, will only occur directly with you, and via email.
As support requests are handled privately, we're now closing this thread.
Your shop is open and active. Check your credit card details especially the expiration date.
I am aware that my shop is active, however - I don't really see the point if none of my funds are going to be released until they verify the name change.
It can take up to two months to verify your information. Be patient.
2 months?
It states when you upload the ID that it typically takes 48hrs.
It's been a week.
**If you can’t verify your name, we’ll need to cancel your pending sales and put your shop on pause via Vacation Mode**
That's the infuriating part, I can verify my name change, it's Etsy that is all 'meh'.
@LondonSuds I think you should contact Etsy Support. Use chat if it's available.
I have contacted Etsy support twice, I don't see an option for live chat anywhere.
So frustrating.
