This issue is NOT resolved for me as of 1:55pm, Mountain Daylight time on July 5, 2022. When attempting to edit anything in the body of a Message, the cursor still keeps jumping to the end.
I thought it was just me! Mine are worse on my laptop though than on my desk top. Very irritating.....
This has been happening to me too!
I am the original poster. As of late last evening (Friday, July 7, 2022)
not mine as of yesterday morning, {Friday, July 8th}
Hello Please, I want help and I am looking for someone to help me. I have opened a shop because I am in dire need of money for three children and I want to work to meet their daily needs. I have entered this field and I have no knowledge of it. Therefore, please help me. My shop is my shop. Money to spend on advertising, so I ask you, who can help me? I hope you guide me, and thank you in advance. Thank you.
This morning, July 11, my message editing seems to be back to normal. Fingers crossed!!!
They fixed the issue only partially for me... My cursor no longer jumps to the end anymore when I press delete or backspace, however the screen still jumps to the very end of the textbox! Very annoying as I still need to scroll back all the way up to where I press delete or backspace. The cursor remains where it was, but the screen jumps! Very naughty, argh!
Same problem here- both in messages and while editing listing descriptions.
Noticing the same problem here. Frustrating!
Also am unable to hold down 'Del' to delete multiple characters consecutively.
July 22, 2022 This issue was resolved few days ago it back Again! While trying type Etsy messages to customers. The cursor jumps to bottom of that page. This is so aggravating having to adjust several times to get messages readable. Please Fix this.
My cursor has finally stopped jumping about, but now I can't hold the delete key to delete a word / line of text. When I push the delete key it deletes 1 character, and jumps to the end of the page. The backspace button works OK though
having the same problem.
These kind of problems sound like javascript issues - since many people report it being "fixed" try doing to <ctrl><f5> while on the page to force your browser to update its cache in case you have an old script version.
I saw that this issue was fixed, but it still continues for me and it’s getting frustrating.
Why was it only fixed for some users and/or devices?
And yes, I rebooted, cleared cache, etc, etc
it has been happening for what seems like forever.
it is definitely not fixed.
It was happening about 2 weeks ago for me and then stopped, but just started back up again. Super frustrating. I thought it was a keyboard issue and I'm glad I found this thread.
The situation has improved a good deal for me, though it is not yet back to working smoothly. Deletes and backspace keys mostly work but occasionally do not, and instead the cursor jumps to the end of the message. This seems to be due to coding errors which are difficult to find and fix. Since Etsy has never responded to this thread, it is impossible to know whether they are still trying to fix the remaining wrinkles or have just give up.
Happening to me too, been like this for weeks now!
Still Happening and has been going on for weeks.
August 29, 2022 When is this going to be fixed? Cursor issues is Back! I'll be typing in Etsy message: to respond to customer, when I stop to read my message then continue typing the cursor moves where it Wants in middle of another sentence or maybe bottom of message page. Which make my response to customers Non sense, Jumbs my words. Continuously having to Recorrect my words. Very Frustrating!!! This takes lots more time to respond to Customers. =(
I'm having the exact same problem for weeks.
yes, here too. Wouldn't if be Nice if this would actually get Fixed....
Oh, and also the 'error' when trying to log in, that has been going on for a Long Time now.....
Cookies have been cleared; reboot pc too. Still Etsy message Cursor issue, & red banner Error when Sign into Etsy Only. no other problem signing into other websites.
Amusing, the fix the devs used seems to have been to force the cursor to jump back to where it should be. So if you clear cookies and go into messages. hit delete, cursor jumps to the end and then comes back. Pretty funny!! Less funny, it seems to breaks again after a while anyway.
