Yesterday I was doing an email change at my Etsy account, and somehow it became creating a new Etsy account, I felt like something was not right, so I deleted that Etsy account immediately, and I got an email from saying my Etsy account got closed.
Later on, I tried to change my email again, but my Etsy account said I could not able to change to that email already on file(but I deleted the account), so I contacted Etsy through Live Chat. The first staff he told me to use another browser to change the email and see if works. I said I tried but still not working, so he said he would have someone contact me about this issue. After several minutes, I got an email from an Etsy Support asking me to provide an old email that I used and the new email that I wanted to change to continue assisting me for verification purposes, so I felt like it's suspicious again due to the email address and the links that they sent from.
Therefore, I talked to a second staff at the Etsy chat to verify those emails for me. The Etsy Staff first claimed the screen-shots I showed him were fake and a scam, so I shared with him the survey email that I got and asked some other questions that I had in mind to clarify the situation. After some conversations, then the second staff said both the survey email and my initial screenshot were valid and safe to respond to. However, I found their conflicting statements highly suspicious. Because of this, I re-captured all the screenshots and submitted them to Etsy Help, but useful info but just an offical email about how to avoid scam from Etsy.
