My shop's shipping record is incorrect

Etsy shows that I have 15 orders without tracking information, which is absolutely NOT true.  Every package that leaves my hands has a tracking number on it.  This cost me Star Seller for the month.  How can I get them to correct this?

Thanks in advance,

Brenda

Yes.  Every order had an entered tracking number.

I'm asking about WHEN it was entered, was it entered before the ship-by date?

Yes, well before the ship by date.  I normally ship several days before the ship by date especially during the holidays.

I have this happening too -- orders are temporarily marked "no" even though everything is as it should be. It updates eventually, but I can imagine a lot of sellers got caught in that in-between time before the status is corrected.

Re: My shop's shipping record is incorrect

Did you enter the tracking number during your processing time frame?  If using Etsy labels or Pirateship tracking numbers are automatically entered.

For the US the item has to be accepted by USPS and enter into transit within the processing time frame.  If the item does not get accepted within the processing time frame but after Etsy considers it not meeting the processing time frame.

If you are entering the tracking manually, are you doing it within your processing time frame?  If you do it after again Etsy considers it not meeting the processing time frame.

Shipping has to take place within the time frame.  It can take place before the processing time frame but not after.   And for the US the item has to be scanned in and in transit.

Re: My shop's shipping record is incorrect

I had the same issue with Etsy.  I ALWAYS include tracking.  I looked up the orders that ETSY has marked with no tracking information and they absolutely do have tracking numbers.  They were shipped on time as well. Frustrating since I work hard to get all orders shipped on time with included tracking. I requested a callback from ETSY, they called back in about 20 minutes.  It seems that I because I had just marked the orders as shipped(with tracking) later in the day yesterday, I need to give the system time to refresh to include the orders I marked complete later yesterday.

Re: My shop's shipping record is incorrect

Usually a day or two after the package has been scanned the CSV file correctly shows tracking and shipment status and Star Seller stats auto update.

Re: My shop's shipping record is incorrect

@FoxiBelles @BagmakerSupply @HammondinkPaper   Except that if that update goes beyond whenever Etsy's computer thinks the first of the month is, then it's "too bad so sad"  even if you shipped and reported the tracking number within the time.   The only work around I can see seems risky-- ship the item but hold off on listing the order as completed and inputing the tracking number until after the CSV has reset for the new month.

Allegedly this problem doesn't occur if you use Etsy labels.  I'm also reading that pirateship can be integrated with Etsy and might avoid the problem so I'm going to try to check that out.  I've been using pirateship but copying and pasting the tracking numbers when I mark orders as complete.

Re: My shop's shipping record is incorrect

That won't work.  The item should be marked complete and the information added within the processing time frame.  Missing proceesing time frame says to Etsy the item was not shipped and it still is a ding against star seller.

Etsy works this on UTC time frame so the last two days of the month are not counted with that month.  Hence 11/29 and 11/30 do not count for November but the information does appear and will be included for what happens for January.

Why are making an added burden and possible error by copying the tracking number.  Use the integegration tool.  This resuces the likelyhood of the package not being listed as sent on time.

Re: My shop's shipping record is incorrect

@PrimFun The scenario I'm suggesting is when the order is placed within the last 2 days of the month and the processing time frame goes into the new month.

People keep posting that the last 2 days of the month don't count and that is simply NOT TRUE.   The orders I'm being dinged for were from the last 2 days of the month.  The processing time would have allowed me until Dec. 1 or 2 to ship-- but I shipped both on the last day of the month.  I inputed the tracking number AND IT WAS SCANNED by the post office on the last day of the month.  But because the CSV didn't automatically update by Dec. 1 it shows them as orders without tracking and I'm being denied by Star Seller badge.

I am a newer shop. I've only recently discovered pirateship and I'm not sure how the integration tool works.  It is something I'll be looking into.  As many people who are posting over the last few days demonstrate-- there is a learning curve to Etsy and there are some little glitches/processes that you don't know are an issue until they become one.

You are in MI - why not use Etsy labels?  Besides saving money it updates automatically.

@MiVintageHome

I noticed the same problem, and it seems like a change in how the orders are recorded. The PirateShip integration works in general, but doesn't solve this issue.

You've explained the situation well -- this is different than the run-of-the-mill issue of orders/messages not being counted at the end of the month.

There's a difference in simply not being counted, and being marked as late incorrectly.

If you ask customer service about this, they can see that those orders were shipped correctly, but can only tell you to wait for the CSV to update. If it doesn't update before the month changes, those incorrectly-marked orders stand (for that month.) They should correct themselves for the next month, but that doesn't help someone who feels slighted by losing the badge.

Re: My shop's shipping record is incorrect

I might do an experiment to see if labels purchased here are treated differently than those purchased on Pirateship. They didn't used to be marked differently, but there have been suggestions that they are now.

I wouldn't switch to Etsy labels over this, though. I just wouldn't ship anything during the last day (or two) of the month if it wasn't due until the next month.

Re: My shop's shipping record is incorrect

@mommawhazelsquilts Etsy labels are not less expensive than Pirateship.

@Adorabilities I think that is the answer-- not shipping at the end of the month if the items are not due yet. (Which is the opposite of good customer service). I do feel slighted but I'm getting over it. But it's a glitch that should be fixedm
