My shop has been acting weirdly

Hello, I'm checking here if someone has had the same issues as me in their shop,

Ok so first of all I have made no sales in my shop since December, which is unusual for me but maybe my offer is not as big as before or maybe it is the news / economy.

However, my shop has been acting very weirdly and I am wondering if the lack of sales came from here, especially as at one point there were 14 items in carts and none of these sales came through. (it was during my January sale)

By weird I mean :

-When I renewed in December and January, I had a kind on ghost action that asked me to renew the listing just after I had renewed it . If I clicked it a second time, no doubt I would have been charged twice for the renewal. This has recently stopped or is not happening on safari (before I used chrome) . This was also happening in another one of my shops, which didn't receive sales over the same period of time. The ones who didn't have this problem, received sales.

- Yesterday, the 12 listings I had renewed 6 days previously, kept appearing in my drafts section instead of active, with the mention "moved to active listing" underneath .

- I clicked on active listings they showed up there, and then I went back to drafts they were there again. They had not been drafts, they had been expired, so what were they doing in drafts ? This kept happening and I even took a snapshot of this to make sure.

- In my shop I currently have 230 listings, but when I add all the listings in the categories, I have 229. But, when I check, there is no active item in the "no section". I spent hours looking for which item it was, it's not blocked because If I count all items in "all" (external) there are 230. So why 229 in sections ?

- Today, I listed two items, closed my shop, reopened it, and saw all my items again with the mention "moved to active listings". Is Etsy turning my listings off when I'm gone ?!?! When I check the views some have many views so I don't think that's it. So what is going on ?

- Yesterday, one of my listings lacked two photos, with interrogation marks instead of the image (I am on Mac). I had to reupload them again.

- The shops are infinitely slower and more lagging than before, no doubt the weight of the new listings forms, heavy to charge photos etc (I am not tech aware ) . Everything takes double the time it took before.

- Just for information, I spent a month changing the picture format of the first picture of all my listings, and they all have alt text.

- If you have experienced any of this let me know what you did, If I contact Etsy I am sure it will take ages.

Thanks !

Re: My shop has been acting weirdly

Lots of sellers reporting slow sales ... could be a myriad of issues relating to economy, shop's slow season, new tariffs, shipping prices, Spring Break season, etc.

Sometimes when a shop is experiencing weird issues with listings or other glitches, this simple little trick helps get things back in shape ... not guaranteed of course, but def worth a try.

  • Deactivate all your active listings
  • Wait a bit (30-secs?)
  • Reactivate them all again.
  • Don't worry ... you won't be asked to pay any listing fees on these reactivations.

Best wishes!

Re: My shop has been acting weirdly

Thank you @TBQSC I thought about doing this but if I do that I lose placement for all my products ? It's like going on vacation ? Maybe I can try to deactivate section by section, not all at the same time.

Re: My shop has been acting weirdly

maybe even just updating something in all the listings and having and then saving the changes will work?
