So my account got hacked about 3 months ago and the hacker messaged hundreds of people trying to scam them out of their money. Luckily the issue was solved on my end and the hacker is no longer a threat to my account, and my shop was reinstated finally. However, im now unable to send messages and it’s a huge inconvenience as I already have a few potential customers that I can’t respond to. Does anyone know how long it’ll take Etsy to enable my messages again?
It seems, since your account was hacked...that Etsy would give you back the ability to message. Did they know your account was hacked?
Yes I would assume so seeing as though I explained the situation to them in numerous emails.
Were your many explanations in regard to the hack that apparently has been resolved? Etsy may not associate that issue with the locked message issue ... so I'd reach out to Etsy help - one request - and let them know you're unable to respond to customers via message.
Good luck.
Before contacting Etsy, make sure you don't use any trademarked characters in your images (Hello Kitty, Smiley Face and more). You can't use them without a license to sell your products.
@CutieThrillz If by "potential customers" you mean someone that favorites your items, Etsy (very rightly) removed the contact button on those views because it's not allowed to contact them.
Just because someone "favorites" an item, does not make them a "potential customer" - it makes them a "window shopper".
No, I’m referring to people that message me questions about my products. There is literally someone messaging me right now looking to buy a commission and I can’t reply to them
