I got a new message a few hours ago, but it was a message that I had sent to a buyer thanking them for the order and estimated shipping time. And the message I originally sent was on the 14th, not today. I am going to get dinged on star seller for not replying to this message, I feel if I reply to the message it won't make sense to the buyer. Has this happened to anyone else? I've been having some really strange things happen lately and doesn't seem that Etsy is there to help at all.
Got another one this morning, four total now.
3 more this morning. I have not replied to any of them and as of right now, it has not impacted my message response rate.

Had the same thing… couldn’t find any actual message from the buyer and thought I was going crazy. I am on vacation and didn’t have much time to look into it. Glad to know it was a glitch.
I had the same happened. I received two messages this morning that I sent to buyers 4 days ago.
Sure would be nice if Admin would chime in here that they are at least aware of and working on this issue. Nothing like jumping to answer emails only to find they are not from a customer.
same happens here, but it seems, like my own sent messages coming back as soon as they are showing on etsy as delivered to buyer.

The one I received a few days ago had been delivered over a week earlier. Other items delivered in the past week did not have a message like this, but at least one was to the UK and not the US as most of my orders are.
Back in to report I had 2 last night but so far today none. There appears to be no hit to my message response rate. It's just really weird to read messages I sent weeks ago lol

For those of you who are having your message returned to your Inbox that you sent to buyer, if you look in that particular Completed Order and click on the message bubble to the right you'll see it says:
There seems to be a message glitch
Per my normal practice, I sent an order acknowledgement note to a customer over a week ago. This morning I had a notification that I had a message in my inbox. Clicking on that took me to the order acknowledgement note I sent 10 days ago. There are no replies to that note that I can see, however when I look at my list of messages, this one claims to have had activity 15 hours ago. Clicking in from my message list brings up the same note I sent, with no replies.
Has anyone else experienced something similar?

You should consider replying to it if you are concerned about the star seller badge. It's obviously a technical issue but SS is automated and you could get dinged for not replying within 24-hours.
Who knows where the reply will go--maybe to the buyer or maybe to you again--but do reply. You can say something about how you aren't sure they received the original message due to a glitch and you are sending it again.
Yes, I just got 6 of them in my inbox. Marked as new messages, but previously sent by me, to customers over a week ago. So strange and not sure what to do about it.
I've been marking them all as spam
I have had the same problem today. I have just replied to the messages with an asterisk. If not it will be flagged as not replied to. I have brought this to Etsy’s attention today. However, IT glitches just go on and on.
This is a site wide issue.
Etsy must be ficksing something.
