For some unknown reason, almost all my listing have an "update required" red text over them. I can't see what needs to be updated..when I scroll over the notice it says something about shipping, but when i go to shipping sections I don't see any issues. Any suggestions on how to do whatever the required update is?

Every POD product I have did the same. Out of nowhere. At least we're not alone!
All of my expired items were marked "Update Required" but not my active and current listings.
Should I relist the expired ones, they should be updated alright to line them up with all the recent changes. I think.
Having a temper tantrum over here. This is illogical. Etsy pushes their labels and offers Ascendia Global Shipping for international, which ISN'T on the list. And the turnaround time is different than the other services. It's not USPS First Class, or Priority, or UPS, or FedEx, or DHL.
WTF Etsy?
Can we really expect Etsy to be logical?

Didn't the CEO recently say Etsy was pivoting to high end items such as custom furniture?
With the elimination of the "other" shipping profile, Etsy essentially just shut the door completely on any larger, high end items such as custom furniture, that might use a courier or freight company.
Wouldn't it be simpler to just announce that Etsy no longer offers a selling platform for heavy or large items, such as custom furniture?
@CostumeCoutureNaomi good point. People who ship freight or use other delivery services will be screwed. They cannot even renew a listing!
The lack of logic astounds me.
One hand does not ever know what the other is doing on this platform. Nobody's getting the memos. There is this consistent lack of coordination that, as you say, is astounding.
Sadly, I am no longer surprised by it.

Are we committed to using the carriers we specify in these shipping profiles? What's the penalty if we choose "USPS first class" (I realize it's ground select now) but then ship with Asendia or UPS?
I sometimes use UPS instead of Priority if the price is better. There is no penalty as long as the in-transit time is about the same or quicker.
Asendia, I think, can take longer so I'm not sure about that one.
I have the "update" red on a lot of my old, expired listings, but nothing on anything that's listed now. I guess I changed the info in my shipping profile at some point without realizing.

Has anyone had an update from Etsy regarding this? It happened back in may, I spent hours trying to get a response from Etsy and it was then fixed. If I don't have the 'other' option, I will have to stop selling internationally as there is no way in the world they will get a standard order within 7 days. Etsy's timeframes are WAY off and with Christmas coming up I can guarantee a massive headache for all UK sellers!!!
"Other" was removed for domestic shipping in May, and was reinstated for SOME shops not all.
They are clearly now removing "other" for international.
With the focus on local in search, and now this, it feels like Etsy want to limit sellers selling internationally.
Yep, looks like it for listings that have “other” selected as a shipping profile. So I guess since they don’t have an option listed for using UShip or another private carrier for shipping large items that are too large for FedEx, we can no longer sell furniture??? I only have two listings that would require me to use a carrier such as UShip because they are too large to use a standard mailing service. I guess I’ll deactivate those two listings until they offer us a solution for this. What are all of these furniture shops supposed to do???
I'm a vintage seller and unfortunately this decision by Etsy will affect those of us selling larger or more delicate items, which require a private man and van delivery. It's an impossible situation for us and I fear will cause many sellers to leave the platform, as it's unsustainable .

Can we please get a response from Etsy? I've had to turn off all international shipping as the estimated dates are so inaccurate. UK to the US does not take 7 business days!
Now it seems that the website is down. Can’t get to my shop page or seller dashboard.
we need someone from Etsy to chime in on this because this choice in shipping is a death blow to 90% of Etsy shops. also advertising and charging people for advertising while unable to sell the product, that's clearly fraud... Etsy is going to have a lot to answer for with this mistake... POD relies on finding the cheapest and most efficient method of shipping so it will never be a straight forward UPS or USPS or DHL. If Etsy is using this to push POD companies to pick a shipping company this might be the end of Etsy... personally I enjoy Etsy but i have no loyalty to Etsy. The sales here are much lower than what I can make in person with my own prints...
I'm fairly new to Etsy & this is the first time I'm listing physical products, most are Digital downloads. Printify will make & ship the orders. I haven't actually sold any physical product yet so hopefully the USPS print selection I made is correct. Time will tell! Thank you.
I just created a new shipping profile (as I need to change my shipping prices on Monday anyway) but I didn't assign any listings yet. When I went back to my listing page all the red banners (Update Required) are gone!!! Bit confused now. Did Etsy fix the issue?
