My listing was removed due to "Etsy's Creativity Standard Violation" but actually not!

Jump to solution

Hi everyone,

I have one of my best selling listing removed yesterday due to "Etsy's Creativity Standard Violation".

- The item is originally made by me and my team. It is not resold or redesigned, nor is resourced by others.
- The listing was listed more than a year ago and photos of the listing were also taken by me (the photos were stolen by many other people all over the internet).

I'm confident that the listing was removed by mistake of the automated system/bot/AI of Etsy. I tried to open a support ticket but all I get now is another automated response, which is not helping at all.

I have been selling for more than 3 years on Etsy and HUNDREDS of my photos were stolen by other Seller from Temu, Amazon or even on Etsy. If we cannot stop this issue, for sure there will be more and more "false violation warnings" and my shop will end up suspended or closed.

I'm fed up with dealing with the thieves, but now I'm even more frustrated of how Etsy "Make Commerce Human" by using bots and AI.

Could you please help me to give an advice of what actually I can do in this situation? I really appreciate!.

The Etsy shop is my only income and I have never feel this desperate and frustrated...

@BeanDaikon You didn't mention what you did about the stolen photos.   When someone has stolen your pictures on the internet, you can file a DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) takedown notice to each website to have the infringing material removed from the internet. The DMCA provides a legal framework for protecting copyrighted material online.
It's your only recourse.

Thank you, I see, however my resources are not enough for doing so. If I have a few then maybe I can, but hundreds of my photos were stolen and the number is growing.

So I don't think keep filing the DCMAs over and over again is a good idea but focusing on doing my work of making better products and take a good care of customers.

And even you file DCMA, I think with the current process, Etsy still remove your listings and doesn't really care.

The item is originally made by me and my team.

you do not have any of your team listed.

as making anything.

just a shipper... a photographer...customer service person and someone who writes your descriptions.

and you... selling handcrafted stuff.

you started in 2020.

selling macrame items.

that you had just learned how to make.

you have 48000 sales.

almost 700 listings.

plus you offer wholesale.

while being a mom of two.

how many people are on your team...

that are actually making these items?

it is a policy violation not to list them all.

and yes...if you let other people...

steal your photos.

etsy will continue taking your listings down.
